POW! Pro Wrestling presents Wicked Game

On Saturday, August 19th, POW! Pro Wrestling Presents Wicked Game. But before we share about the present, readers should come to learn about POW’s past. On October 13, 2019, POW! Pro Wrestling made its debut in the great city of Eugene, Oregon. It had four shows before the Pandemic shut everything down.

But it made an impressive comeback on January 22, 2022. POW! Pro Wrestling has put on twenty-five shows around the state of Oregon and the growing Pacific Northwest market. And you can watch it weekly on its own Youtube channel,

On August 19, POW! Pro Wrestling will be putting on arguably its biggest card to date. It is time for “Wicked Game” at the traditional POW! home of Whirled Pies in Eugene, Oregon.

We have a thirty-person Rumble 2 Wregret, a Strap Match, a Two out of Three Falls match for the POW! Tag Team Championship and a Barbed Wire Match for the POW! Championship. Let us take a closer look at this fun card.

Izzy McQueen vs. Fallen Flower Kikyo

On March 8, 2020, Izzy McQueen lost at POW!’s “Altered Egos” against Kikyo. Little did POW! fans know that would be the last appearance by McQueen for over three years. But at July’s “Pick Your Poison” show, McQueen made her triumphant return to POW! where she defeated Tara Zep.

At “Wicked Game,” McQueen has a chance for some long overdue revenge. Fallen Flower Kikyo sees herself as the “Gatekeeper” of the POW! Women’s Division. Can she deny Izzy McQueen yet again?

Derrick Shaw vs. Dr. Kliever (Strap Match)

In 2022, Derrick Shaw and Dr. Kliever were the tag team “Dead 2 Rights”. They had a lot of success in POW! as a team until they were forced to break up in September. Since that fateful night, Shaw has looked for revenge against his former tag team partner on numerous occasions over the course of 2023. At “Wicked Game”, can Shaw finally get the upper hand?

The match will be a Strap Match, one of the most brutal in all of professional wrestling. Shaw needs to watch out for King Naja at ringside. Naja and Kliever are certainly not above cheating to pick up this all-important victory in this very personal feud.

Rumble 2 Wregret
(Winner Faces Funny Bone For the POW! Championship)

At July’s “Pick Your Poison”, Funny Bone won the right to pick the stipulation for his POW! Championship match against long-time rival Vinnie Massaro for August’s “Wicked Game”.

The stipulation picked by the champion was a Summer Barbed Wire Q Match. But Vinnie refused to participate in “Wicked Game,” and a huge opportunity opened up for the talented POW! roster.

At “Wicked Game”, we will have thirty-person Rumble 2 Wregret. The winner of that match will get that shot at the POW! Championship later that night. Some POW! favorites like Jaiden, Drexl, Amira, Zicky Dice, Kris Brady, Charly Avell, and the Flamin’ Aces will be part of this important match. We will have plenty of surprise entrants as well. With the stakes this high, expect some pure chaos at Whirled Pies.

The Hammer Brothers vs. Blanchard Brothers
(Best ⅔ Falls for the Vacant POW! Tag Team Championship)

It has been quite the journey to determine the POW! Tag Team Championship. After a grueling tournament, the Blanchard Brothers became the inaugural champions at POW!’s “Let It Reign” show in June, defeating fan favorites, the Hammer Brothers. That title match certainly wasn’t without controversy.

Just one week later, a rematch occurred at “Basebrawl”. In the main event at the beautiful baseball stadium PK Park, the Hammer Brothers won the POW! Tag Team Championship. It was with some help from the Eugene Emeralds minor league baseball mascot, Sluggo.

With all these controversies, POW! Commissioner Brian Zane had no choice but to make the POW! Tag Team title is vacant yet again in July.

At “Wicked Game”, the POW! Tag Team Championship will be determined once and for all in a Best Two out of Three Falls match. Two referees will be at ringside to keep things honest. But will that be enough?

The Blanchard Brothers and their manager Mister Ooh-La-La are not above cheating their way. Who will finally be the POW! Tag Team Champion?

Funny Bone (c) vs. Winner of Rumble
(Summer Barbed Wire Q Match for the POW! Championship)

Funny Bone has been quite the fighting champion since winning the POW! Champion on August 27, 2022. He has defended the title against Caden Cassidy, Vinnie Massaro, Kris Brady, Jaiden, and Sonico in some of the most brutal matches you will ever see.

At “Wicked Game,” he might just be in his most violent match in POW! Yet, a Barbed Wire Match.

Funny Bone will have a huge advantage on Saturday night. He will be rested and ready, awaiting the winner of the 30-person Rumble 2 Wregret earlier in the night. Is it really a reward to get the “Demi-God of Death” in a Barbed Wire match?

It is going to be a bloody main event for the POW! Championship in another fun night in Eugene, Oregon.
