Why have one four-hour special when you can have two! It is time for AEW Summer Blockbuster 2025! As we move closer to Grand Slam Mexico and AEW All In, All Elite Wrestling is having Dynamite and Collision back to back this Wednesday night for the second straight week.
We have a huge Contract signing, Toni Storm in action and a huge rematch between two of the bigger stars in All Elite Wrestling. It should be a great night in the Rose City.
Let us learn more about this massive night in Portland in the latest edition of AEW Dynamite IGNITE.
AEW Summer Blockbuster 2025
Thekla vs Queen Aminata
Thekla made her in-ring debut last week. She defeated Lady Frost in impressive fashion. What is next for “The Toxic Spider”?
After the match last week, Thelka attacked Frost. That is until Queen Aminata made a save. Aminata then challenged Thelka to a match at Summer Blockbuster. Will “The Toxic Spider” continue her wrath for another week?
AEW Summer Blockbuster 2025
Místico Returns
As we get closer to Grand Slam Mexico, the stars of CMLL have been appearing on AEW television. At Summer Blockbuster, the biggest star in CMLL will finally arrive. It is time for Místico!
Místico hasn’t been on AEW television since August 1, 2024. What brings him back to All Elite Wrestling? And will he have a match at Grand Slam Mexico? The Forbidden Door is truly open before Grand Slam Mexico.
AEW Summer Blockbuster 2025
Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford vs TayJay (Tay Melo & Anna Jay)
At last week’s Fyter Fest, Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford were attacking Anna Jay. That is until Tay Melo made the save. It was Melo’s first appearance in All Elite Wrestling since January 11, 2023 on an episode of AEW Rampage.
On this week’s show, the TayJay tag team will make its in-ring return. Can they defeat the experienced team of Bayne and Ford? After over two years away, can TayJay possibly be ready for this huge challenge?
AEW Summer Blockbuster 2025
The Hurt Syndicate vs. Komander, Kevin Knight & Speedball Bailey
At AEW Fyter Fest, the Trios team of Komander, Kevin Knight & Speedball Bailey interrupted a promo from The Hurt Syndicate and demanded a match against the group. MVP declined saying they had to earn a match first. They then proceeded to defeat La Faccion Ingobernable.
This got them a Trios Match against The Hurt Syndicate at AEW Summer Blockbuster. It is certainly a clash of styles between the power of Hurt Syndicate and their high flying opponents. Can Komander, Knight and Bailey pull off the upset? If they can, they could be in line for future title shots.
AEW Summer Blockbuster 2025
“Timeless” Toni Storm vs. Julia Hart
Last week, “Timeless” Toni Storm & Mina Shirakawa defeated Skye Blue & Julia Hart. This was as Mercedes Moné watched on, watching her future opponent at AEW All In. The story continues this week in Portland.
Julia Hart has challenged Toni Storm to a match at Summer Blockbuster. Mercedes Moné will be on commentary. Will Mercedes’ presence be a distraction to the “Timeless” One? When facing a former TBS Champion like Hart, that could prove costly.
AEW Summer Blockbuster 2025
Kyle Fletcher vs. Anthony Bowens
At Fyter Fest, Anthony Bowens challenged Kyle Fletcher to a match in Portland. “The Pride of Professional Wrestling” wants to have a big month of huge matches.
Facing Kyle Fletcher would certainly be high on the list. Can Bowens pull off the biggest victory of his new singles career?
AEW Summer Blockbuster 2025
Kenny Omega vs. Kazuchika Okada Contact Signing
The dream match is finally happening at AEW All In. Two of the greatest wrestlers in the world will face off in Texas with both the AEW International and Continental titles on the line. If this match is anything like the four epic matches in New Japan Pro Wrestling, we are in for an instant classic.
Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada will face off for a contract signing in Portland. What will the two of them have to say before AEW All In? History tells us this contact signing will not simply go as planned. I cannot wait.
AEW Summer Blockbuster 2025
Will Ospreay vs Swerve Strickland
On last week’s Fyter Fest, Will Ospreay discussed his recent confrontation with Swerve Strickland. Will is determined to back up Hangman Page’s quest to win back the AEW World Championship at AEW All In. And based on past history, he is worried Strickland will cost Page that change in Texas.
So Ospreay challenged Strickland to a match at Summer Blockbuster. The last time they faced off was Forbidden Door 2024. Swerve won on that faithful night.
Can he do so again in Portland? And if he does, will he turn his sights back to Hangman Page? It should be an epic rematch on Wednesday night for sure.
What To Expect:
- What is next for Jon Moxley before AEW All In?
- What is next for TNT Champion Adam Cole?
- Will we start to learn matches for Grand Slam Mexico?
