Who will be part of MJF’s and Mark Briscoe’s teams for Forbidden Door as we preview AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 6/17/26?
On this week’s AEW Dynamite, MJF and Mark Briscoe will choose the five members of their teams for the Forbidden Door Steel Cage Match.
But that isn’t enough, they will then all face off in a 12-Man Tag tonight! Let us learn more about this interesting night in Houston in the latest edition of AEW Ignite.
AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 6/17/26
Will Ospreay & Swerve Strickland Face-to-Face
The Men’s Owen Hart Cup is set. Will Ospreay will face Swerve Strickland. The winner will also receive an AEW World Championship match at AEW All In. It is safe to say that the stakes will be pretty high at Forbidden Door.
Ospreay and Strickland will face off on this week’s AEW Dynamite. The two faced off at Forbidden Door 2024, where Swerve Strickland defeated Ospreay.
At last year’s Summer Blockbuster, they fought to a 30-minute draw. The odds are pretty good that Strickland will bring up their history on AEW Dynamite. It should be quite a meeting in Houston.

Hazuki vs. Mercedes Moné
(Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Semifinal)
Mercedes Moné made her return to AEW after a five-month hiatus by defeating Alex Windsor in the quarterfinals of the tournament. Can the defending champion make it back to the finals? She will be facing a surprise opponent in the semifinals.
Stardom’s Hazuki will be Mercedes’ opponent on Wednesday night. On last week’s AEW Collision, Hazuki defeated CMLL’s Persephone to earn her shot in the semifinals. She was attacked by Moné after the match.
Moné certainly is the favorite in this semifinal match-up. But dismissing Hazuki would be a big mistake. Hazuki is a multi-time champion and tournament winner in Stardom. If Mercedes looks past her, we might just see an upset in Houston.

MJF’s Team vs. Mark Briscoe’s Team
(12-Man Tag)
Since winning the AEW World Title at Double or Nothing, MJF has had a lot of targets on his back. The biggest one might just be Mark Briscoe.
Briscoe defeated MJF at last year’s AEW All Out in a “Tables & Thumbtacks” match. He believes that he owes him a shot at the AEW World Champion.
In the least surprising move ever, MJF refused to give Mark a title shot on last week’s AEW Dynamite. He even paid Jay Lethal, Lee Johnson and Blake Christian to take out Briscoe. That is, until the Conglomeration made the save. It was at this point that Briscoe shared the good news with MJF.
At Forbidden Door, MJF’s and Mark Briscoe’s teams will face off in a 12-Man Tag Team Steel Cage match. If Briscoe’s team wins, he will get a future World Title shot. It will be a huge match for sure.
On this week’s show, MJF and Mark Briscoe will pick the members of their Forbidden Door teams. But that is not all.
The two newly formed teams will have a 12-Man Tag Team match on this week’s AEW Dynamite, too. Who will be on the two teams? And can they quickly gel together on this week’s show? It will be fun to find out.
What To Expect:
- What is next in the rivalry between Chris Jericho and Tommaso Ciampa?
- What is next for Andrade El Idolo?
- Will more matches be announced for Forbidden Door?
