“The Redeemer” Miro last wrestled at AEW All Out 2022. Fans were distraught to see the talented former TNT Champion disappear from AEW television for months. It was certainly a surprise to see Miro walk into Tony Khan’s office on the May 10th AEW Dynamite. Was Miro finally coming back?

After the announcement of AEW Collision, it quickly became clear that “The Redeemer” would be a major part of the weekly Saturday show. On the premiere episode, Miro will be in action. You have to feel sorry for the poor competitor that will be facing Miro after a nine-month absence.

Skye Blue & Willow Nightingale vs. Toni Storm & Ruby Soho

On this week’s AEW Dynamite, Skye Blue challenged Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship. Skye put in a valiant effort, and planted the champ with a yoshi tonic, but the referee was too busy jawjacking with Ruby Soho to count the pin. Amid the confusion, Toni Storm was able to connect with a piledriver for the win.

After the match, the Outcasts tried to attack Blue until Willow Nightingale made the save. It sets up a big tag team match in the United Center on Saturday night. Will the hometown advantage help Skye pull off the biggest victory of her young career?

(AEW TNT Championship)

Wardlow had just picked up the victory over Jake Hager on AEW Dynamite when Christian Cage appeared on the Tron. He had demanded a match for Lucasaurus for weeks now. After Wardlow accepted the challenge, Cage showed a blooded Arn Anderson backstage. The mind games of Christian Cage had just reached a whole new level.

At the United Center, Wardlow will put the TNT Championship on the line against Luchasaurus. Since aligning himself with Christian Cage last year, Luchasaurus has developed a cold-blooded instinct he never had with “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry. Could this ruthlessness bring an end to Wardlow’s 60-day title reign? Wardlow is in for perhaps the biggest challenge of his AEW career this Saturday night!

Buddy Matthews vs. Andrade El Idolo

It’s been quite some time since AEW fans have last seen Andrade El Idolo, who last wrestled in the Casino Ladder Match at All Out 2022. After some backstage issues, the talented wrestler had all but disappeared from All Elite Wrestling. But with the debut of AEW Collision, El Idolo is on track for in-ring action for the first time in nine months.

It certainly won’t be an easy return match for Andrade. He will be facing one-third of the AEW Trios Champions, Buddy Matthews. Despite being in similar wrestling promotions over the years, this will be a first-time meeting for the two talented wrestlers. With a mix of high flying and hard striking, this match could certainly steal the show in the very first episode of AEW Collision.

Talk about a huge main event! CM Punk will be returning to an AEW ring for the first time since the shocking night that was AEW All Out 2022. In the ensuing months, rumors abounded that we may never see CM Punk in a wrestling ring again. All that came to an end when we learned that the debut episode of Collision would emanate from Chicago.

The opponents for Punk’s return match are Jay White, Juice Robinson, and Samoa Joe. The Bullet Club Gold have proven themselves to be quite dangerous since their debut. They will be new opponents for CM Punk. However, Samoa Joe will be a familiar sight for Punk.

They famously had some epic matches back in Ring of Honor. What will happen when two famous rivals meet face-to-face for the first time in almost 20 years? It could be a special moment on a truly special night in Chicago.

What To Expect:

  • Will we learn about more matches for Forbidden Door?
  • What will CM Punk have to say?
  • What will any more surprises be in store for the Chicago crowd?
