1. New Trios Champions

Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite was headlined by the final match in the Best of 7 Series for the AEW Trios Championships. Each trio with three wins a piece, The Elite and Death Triangle went to war in “Escalera De La Muerte II” (a ladder match).

The grueling match saw multiple table spots and PAC once again use the timekeeper’s hammer. Kenny Omega was the one to unhook the titles, after hitting Rey Fenix with a One-Winged Angel off a ladder bridge and getting his knees up on PAC’s Black Arrow.

This marks the second time that The Elite have held the AEW Trios Championships. After becoming the inaugural champions at All Out in September, the group was involved in a backstage altercation with then AEW World Champion CM Punk. Following the incident, the group was stripped of the AEW Trios Championships and quietly suspended from the company. The Young Bucks will battle Top Flight on next week’s Dynamite.

2. Adam Cole Is Back (BAY BAY!)

Wednesday’s Dynamite was all-about-tha-BOOM (bay-bay) as Adam Cole made his long awaited return to AEW. Cole last competed at June’s AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door event, participating in an IWGP Heavyweight Championship four-way with Hangman Adam Page, Kazuchika Okada and defending champion Jay White.

Cole made his unannounced return in an interview with Tony Schiavone and teased the crowd by saying it was a good news/bad news situation. Cole went on to recall the details of his two concussions, and reiterate how grateful he was for the fan’s support. The bad news? It’s not for him, but rather for the rest of the AEW locker room, because Cole is back and is more determined than ever to climb the mountain.

3. Hangman’s Revenge

After weeks of tension, Jon Moxley and Hangman Adam Page finally got their hands on one another on Dynamite. The bout was a rematch of their previous AEW World Championship match, in that outing Page sustained a concussion and the match was stopped by the referee.

The pair called back to their original match with several large shots to each other’s heads and necks. Page connected with the Buckshot Lariat to score the victory, thus handing Moxley his first Dynamite loss in 17 months. He was last defeated on Dynamite when he faced Lance Archer for the IWGP United States Championship in July 2021.

4. Danielson vs. Takeshita

Last week, Bryan Danielson and AEW World Champion MJF reached a deal; if Danielson can win every match up until the February 8th edition of Dynamite, he will challenge MJF for his title at AEW Revolution in a 60-Minute Iron Man Match. His first match this week, was against Konosuke Takeshita.

The young DDT Standout and recent AEW signee was able to take The American Dragon to his limit. Ultimately Danielson was able to get the win, making Takeshita pass out in a submission hold. Danielson’s next bout will be against former ROH World Champion Bandido.

5. A Bloody Battle

Friday’s edition of Rampage was headlined by a Tag Team Street Fight, pitting Ruby Soho and Willow Nightingale against The Jericho Appreciation Society’s Anna Jay A.S. The four women used weapons, drew blood and fought all over the ringside area.

Barbed wire and thumb tacks left all four women a bloody mess. Nightingale power bombed Jay off the entrance stage, nearly missing a table. Soho hit Melo with a Destination Unknown onto a pile of tacks to get the pinfall victory for her team.
