At this Saturday evening’s NXT Takeover XXX, new champions were crowned at NXT TakeOver XXX. One champion was crowned after a hard-fought ladder match. The matchup involved the likes of Bronson Reed, Velveteen Dream, Cameron Grimes, Johnny Gargano, and Damien Priest. From the opening bell, fans witnessed each of these hungry competitors coming into the match with the same goal. This past week saw Johnny Gargano qualify for this match, making it a five-way battle for the championship.
Throughout the contest, each man had a moment. For each participant, they had a moment where they were on the cusp of winning the title. While the ladder was a key facet of the match, so were the risks taken throughout. Fans were witness to Velveteen Dream, and Johnny Gargano work together at one time. They were also witnessing Cameron Grimes getting into the action and working with Dream and Gargano. Another moment in the match saw the thicc boy Bronson Reed deliver a tope suicida to Gargano, Dream, and Grimes. Fans also witnessed Mrs. Gargano play an active role in this match as well. With the aid of Johnny Gargano, Candice hit a springboard hurricanrana to the outside on Cameron Grimes. If superkicks weren’t critical factors in this match, it was massive leaps throughout be all involved.
At one point in the match, fans witnessed the archer of infamy run up the ladder and propel himself over the top rope onto the other challengers below. These were the moments that made this match so memorable. Another notable item that came from that match involved Bronson Reed. It had nothing to do with his performance but rather his ring attire. Reed’s flame encrusted singlet that was paying tribute to the late Bam Bam Bigelow.
New Champions Crowned At NXT TakeOver XXX
As the match was drawing to a close, every competitor took an active role in teasing coming close to winning the title, with Damien Priest and Johnny Gargano battling over the title, only to have the archer ultimately prevail. Damien Priest became the new North American Champion. Priest’s win wasn’t the only title to change hands on this night.

In the night’s main event, Karrion Kross challenged Keith Lee for the NXT Championship. The build-up to the match had a great deal to do with who Kross played on Lee’s emotions. Whether it was watching Dominik Dijakovich struggle as he would fall into unconsciousness. The fire was being lit in Keith Lee. Lee was preparing to avenge what happened to Dijakovich. He was also preparing to thwart the meteoric rise of Kross.
The story being told throughout the match had Kross focusing on the arm and shoulder of Keith Lee. As the matchup progresses, Lee made his comeback. He was able to overcome Kross working on his arm to impose his own will. Lee hit a powerbomb that fans would think would have thought should have finished Kross. The result, however, was Karrion kicking out at two. As the match is meeting is closing moments, both men are battling each other on the top rope. It resulted in Kross hitting a side suplex off the ropes on Lee. He made the cover for the three count and the win. The winner AND NEW NXT Champion, is Karrion Kross.
