During Central Empire Wrestling’s 11-Year Anniversary Show, the landscape of CEW changed forever. That night in March, “Tenacious” Tim Rhodes turned his back on the fans. He also severed ties with tag team partner “Pop Icon” Donnie Peppercricket in dramatic fashion. Before getting into Rhodes’s treacherous actions during that night’s main event, what happened earlier in the show needs to be discussed. Starting the show, Peppercricket, who at Bridge City Slam 2, ended the long-standing reign of Shawn Nautilus as CEW Champion, came out to address the fans. Here is our preview for Central Empire Wrestling as they present their upcoming event PowerSlam.

He thanked them for their continued support. He thanked Nautilus for the opportunity to fight him, and he even thanked fellow CEW veteran Rory Fox. The one-man he forgot to thank was his D&T Dynasty partner, Tim Rhodes. This perceived slight didn’t sit well with Rhodes, as he left the championship celebration upset with his partner.

Before that night’s CEW Tag Team Championship match, Rhodes was revealed as Rory Fox’s mystery partner. The two were teaming up against the defending champion Snake Pit. After a failed Doomsday Device attempt from the Snake Pit, Fox rolled up Duke Cornell crowning new CEW Tag Team Champions.

The feel-good moment was short-lived because of what came next. With Fox and Rhodes watching in the audience, the stage was set for an epic encounter for the CEW Heavyweight Championship. Donnie Peppercricket was defending against “Booty King” JT Energy.

Energy, fresh off the biggest victory of his career over WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler at Bridge City Slam 2, was riding a wave of momentum heading into the match. Peppercricket and Energy put on a barn burner with neither man asserting dominance. Knowing each other so well from years of competition, led to a back and forth contest. With the referee incapacitated, Energy looked to use the CEW Championship as a weapon. However, Rhodes stopped him before shockingly striking Peppercricket with his newly won CEW Tag Team Championship.

A groggy three count later, and JT Energy became the new Central Empire Wrestling Heavyweight Champion. Rhodes’s actions stunned Peppercricket and left the CEW faithful flabbergasted. A beloved hero had turned to the dark side. Included in the shocked masses was Rory Fox, who’s new tag team partner was now siding with one of his oldest rivals.

Since then, Energy and Rhodes have flaunted their newfound friendship all over social media. Meanwhile, Fox’s attempts to talk some sense into Rhodes have fallen on deaf ears. This brings us to the premiere episode of Central Empire Wrestling: PowerSlam. The reluctant partners go one on one to try and solve the current dilemma involving the CEW Tag Team Championships. Fox has to watch his back, though. Because it’s very apparent anywhere Tim Rhodes goes, his best friend JT Energy isn’t far behind. Central Empire Wrestling: PowerSlam debuts on CEW’s Facebook and YouTube pages Thursday, August 13th at 7:30 Central Standard Time.
