MLW returns with part two of their doubleheader in Miami with Zero Hour! MLW Zero Hour takes place on December 14th. It will also partly air live on beINSports on the evening of the 14th.
Battle of the Superheavyweights
Ace Romero vs. Barrington Hughes
The ring will have been reinforced for this one! The newly debuted Ace Romero will face off with Barrington Hughes in the ring. They had a brief face-off during Never Say Never, but here it will be official. Almost 1,000 pounds of mass will be clashing in this ultimate hoss fight. Who will prove to be the most dominant big man in MLW?
Dragon Lee vs. DJZ
Another newcomer to MLW, Dragon Lee, will face his second-ever challenge in DJZ. The young luchador will face a grizzled young vet in the Filipino sensation. These two have similar styles and should prove to put on a very good show. Both men would like to catch the eye of MLW matchmakers as the attention shifts to 2019 and potential title opportunities. DJZ especially may be feeling the pressure following his match at Never Say Never.
RUSH vs. Rich Swann
After a successful night at Never Say Never, RUSH will look to repeat the success at Zero Hour. The leader of Los Ingobernables is on a mission to bring their brand of work to the United States. He has his ultimate sights set beyond his opponent, Rich Swann, hopefully, this does not work against him. Rich Swann showed a different side of himself at Never Say Never by playing a little outside the rules. When it comes to playing a little dirty, RUSH doesn’t mind going there to get the job done. Which of these fantastic wrestlers will walk away with a much-needed win?
Ladder Match
MLW Middleweight Championship
Kotto Brazil vs. Dezmond Xavier vs. Andrew Everett vs. Hijo de LA Park
This is one match that has evolved since it was first announced. It was set to feature the last MLW Middleweight Champion, Maxwell J. Friedman (MJF, defending against four opponents. However, MJF did go down with an injury, as did one of the fighters who qualified to be in this match, Jason Cade. Now Cade has been replaced by Promociones Dorado’s Hijo de LA Park, and this match will crown a new MLW Middleweight Champion. Each of these fighters has elements that make them special and each could make an excellent Middleweight Champion. The real question will be who will climb the ladder and take the brass ring at Zero Hour?
Singapore Cane Match
Tommy Dreamer vs. Brian Pillman, Jr.
This match is personal. Brian Pillman, Jr. first showed his dark side by turning on his long-time mentor Kevin Sullivan and joining the Hart Foundation. Tommy Dreamer especially takes exception to young wrestlers like Pillman not respecting veterans and the contributions they made. On a recent episode of MLW Fusion, Dreamer and Pillman first locked horns. Dreamer was able to get the best of the youngest member of the Hart Foundation. Pillman didn’t react well to that either. He attacked Dreamer after the match and gave him not one, but two swinging neck breakers. Dreamer has a well-documented history of neck problems. Now for the rematch, the rules are very much in Dreamer’s favor. The Innovator of Violence is always at home with a weapon in his hands. It will be a huge test in Pillman’s young career how he fares in such a match.
No Disqualification Match
MLW World Heavyweight Championship
Low-Ki (c) (presented by Salina de la Renta) vs. Konnan
This match is insanely personal as well. The war between Konnan and Salina de la Renta, Low-Ki and Promociones Dorado has been brewing all year long. Trading victories and verbal jabs throughout, it has escalated to this. Konnan is a legendary wrestler and has been retired for several years. Konnan debuted in wrestling back in 1987 and ceased actively wrestling in 2013. Initially, Konnan turned down Low-Ki’s challenge before relenting and agreeing to the bout.
Konnan has been a constant thorn in Low-Ki and Salina’s sides, as they look to dominate MLW. They do not take kindly to Konnan advising former clients of Salina’s in the Lucha Brothers or even Konnan’s presence in MLW period. Now Low-Ki finally has his chance to rid MLW of his competition. Low-Ki’s World Heavyweight Championship is also on the line as if either man didn’t have enough motivation already.
Also scheduled to appear are “Filthy” Tom Lawlor, the Hart Foundation, LA Park, Simon Gotch, Gringo Loco and the Dirty Blondes. Three of these matches will air on beINSports in the first-ever live broadcast of MLW Fusion! Like any other episode of MLW Fusion, this will also be available on YouTube at 6:05 PM Eastern on Saturday. It will also be available on Fite.TV as well.
