Remember when World Wrestling Entertainment was able to crank out some of the best video games of all-time? Between WWF No Mercy, WWF Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain and even WWE All-Stars, we’ve been blessed with several digital titles that have brought our wrestling dreams to life. But while the recent edition of WWE 2K20 may have fallen flat, it seems another video game developer is ready to throw their name into the hat.
New England based video game company, Virtual Basement, has signed several independent superstars to exclusive video game likeness contracts over the past few weeks, with the most notable being announced today, former WWE NXT superstar Bull James.

James, currently a head coach at New York Wrestling Connection, announced via Twitter that he has signed on to be apart of their upcoming wrestling video game. After some careful research, Pro Wrestling Post has discovered several other big-name wrestling stars have signed on, including:
Impact Wrestling’s Fallah Bahh
Beyond Wrestling’s Bear Country
ROH’s “All Day” O’Shay Edwards
and Matt Sydal
While we may only have little information at this time, the company known for making such games as The Mean Greens – Plastic Warfare, Broomstick League, Outlaws of Old West and Ark – Survival Evolved is now looking to step in a realm totally dominated by WWE and 2K Sports. Could this be the beginning of the wrestling warfare on the video game front? Only time will tell.

While there isn’t much information about this untitled wrestling video game, the excitement is definitely on a high. In total, we are talking multiple world champions, current television stars, and big-name free agents all signed on to have their likeness added to this game. If we’re to build a wrestling company, this would be a great roster to start. For a newcomer in the gaming world, this is a big get.
Could this be the rumored game that was floating around late last year when the WWE2K franchise came under scrutiny from the public due to glitches? I guess we will find out soon. This video game developer could be onto something huge.
