This week’s RAW has a HUGE main event. A number one contender’s match for Brock Lesnar’s WWE Championship. A triple threat match in fact! Bobby Lashley vs Ricochet vs Seth Rollins. Expect some high flying, hard-hitting fireworks folks!
Monday Night Raw opened with a video recap of last week’s development between Randy Orton and the newly returned Edge. The Viper was the first superstar to come out to the ring. He was there presumably to give a reason for his dastardly actions against Edge. He paused several times when he tried to speak. The WWE Universe in attendance showered him with boos every time he said a word or two. This went on for nearly five minutes before he exited the ring and walked up the ramp without giving anyone any explanation.
Lana and Liv Morgan continued their running feud with a one-on-one matchup. It was a short match with Liv getting her second consecutive win over The Ravishing Russian. After the match was over, Liv’s former Riott Squad team-mate Ruby Riott returned to the WWE after missing in action for the last nine months. The Riott Squad reunion was not to be however, as Liv’s smile turned into a frown after Ruby attacked her. As Ruby left, Lana, who was still in the ring after getting pinned, took the opportunity to lay Liv out for a measure of revenge.

The WWE 24/7 Champion Mojo Rawley, with his offensive lineman Riddick Moss accompanying him, stood in the ring for a match against the 2020 Royal Rumble winner, Drew McIntyre. The Scottish Psychopath addressed Brock Lesnar’s sneak attack last week. He told Mojo Rawley that three seconds after he puts the microphone down, he’s going to nail him with a Claymore Kick. A man of his word, McIntyre leveled the 24/7 Champion in three seconds flat to pick up the victory.
The AOP and Buddy Murphy took on Kevin Owens and the Viking Raiders in a six-man elimination tag team match next. AOP and Murphy were accompanied to ringside by The Monday Night Messiah, Seth Rollins. The former Universal and current Tag champ inserted himself into the match by hitting Erik with a Curb Stomp outside the ring to cause the first elimination of the match. Shortly thereafter, Ivar ran into the LED board outside the ring and had to be helped to the back.
3 on 1? No problem.

This left Kevin Owens all alone to face off against Seth’s disciples alone. It’s not uncommon, however, as Owens hasn’t backed down once. Not even at the risk of being double and triple-teamed. Tonight was no different except for the fact that the match turned into a 3-on-1 affair pretty quickly. Buddy Murphy was the first to face elimination after a Popup Powerbomb from Owens. A Stunner on Akam evened things out at one member apiece but two spine busters from Razar sealed Owen’s fate tonight.
Aleister Black was in action against Eric Young and as he so often does, ended the match with a Black Mass kick to pick up the win. After the match, he grabbed the microphone just like last week. He reiterated the fact that he was after the entire roster.

Humberto Carrillo was preparing for a match against Angel Garza, who was accompanied by Zelina Vega. Apparently Garza and Carrillo are cousins. That didn’t stop Garza. He attacked Humberto and tried to nail a Hammerlock DDT on the exposed concrete outside the ring. Rey Mysterio Jr made the save and it turned into a one-on-one affair. Rey versus Garza. Zelina Vega, Raw’s most valuable valet, would prove useful once again as she saved Garza from the effects of the 619. Garza would later hit a Hammerlock DDT onto the exposed concrete to cause a disqualification.
The 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble winner, Charlotte Flair came to the ring. She spoke about who she’s going to eventually select to face at Wrestlemania. The NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley should up and suggested Flair challenge her at Wrestlemania. The Queen is still undecided.

Natalya took on one half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Asuka in singles competition with Kairi Sane ringside supporting her partner. Nattie nearly picked up the win with the Sharpshooter but Asuka escaped to the ropes and didn’t tap. Kairi Sane would distract The Queen of Harts just long enough for her partner to lock in the Asuka Lock for the win. Asuka then called out The Man, Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. She accepted Asuka’s challenge and thwarted a sneak attack by the Empress of Tomorrow.
Ricochet, Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley battled each other in a triple threat match to determine the #1 Contender for Brock Lesnar’s WWE Championship. Seth Rollins’s disciples got involved in the match. Buddy Murphy knocked Ricochet from his favorite perch atop the turnbuckle. The AOP incapacitated Lashley and Rollins looked poised to take the win. But Kevin Owens and the miraculously healed Viking Raiders came down to clear out Akam, Razar, and Buddy Murphy. Inside the ring, Ricochet hit Bobby Lashley with a 631 Splash to become the new #1 contender. Before he could celebrate, Brock Lesnar appeared and gave the victorious Ricochet an F5 to end the show.
CONGRATULATIONS, @KingRicochet…@BrockLesnar will see YOU at #WWESSD! #RAW pic.twitter.com/J9ZwuQLARH
