The upcoming episode of WWE NXT 2.0 for 9/20/22 features five matches. What is interesting about this week’s episode has little to do with the matches announced by the events of a moment that ended last week’s show. Fans will likely recall that the NXT 2.0 logo transitioned to a familiar golden frame with the removal of the phrase 2.0.

Does this signal the dawning of a time when fans clamored for the black and gold? While much can’t be made of a logo change, it will lead many to speculate on what’s next.

Sanga vs. Von Wagner with Robert Brand

On last week’s edition of NXT 2.0, Von Wagner and Sanga had a confrontation backstage all because of believed disrespect. Sanga was standing up for Yulisa Leon and Valentina Feroz. With Leon’s spirits down because she will be injured for months, Wagner walked in upset that he was passed over to challenge for the NXT North American Championship.

While standing up for the honor and respect of others is noble, Sanga will need to stand up on his own two feet in order for him to succeed. Will it be enough, or will Von Wagner’s motivation of wanting to be a threat for a title in NXT be enough to put him through?

    Nathan Frazier vs. Axiom

If their first match is any indication, this second of three battles between them will turn heads! In their first match, Axiom picked up the win. Whether or not Axiom picks up the win here in their second match isn’t a sure thing. But what is certain is that both of these competitors will put on a show that fans of NXT UK were well aware of.

Their first match saw both men connecting on an array of submission attempts and strikes. But in order for Frazier to even the odds, he will need to cut him off and slow him down. Will this be the night where Nathan Frazier can even out the odds?

Tatum Paxley & Ivy Nile vs. Toxic Attraction

On their journey back to the NXT Women’s Tag Team titles, Gigi Dolin and Jacey Jayne face the challenge of Paxley & Nile. Readers who are also fans of NXT Level Up will note that Paxley and Nile were mounting a series of wins. This night, however, will pit the seeming underdogs against the two former NXT Women’s tag team champions.

The unlikely duo of Nile and Paxley has shown that they are more than capable of putting on an exciting match. A match that will engage the audience and put some modicum of fear in their opposition. Will this be the night where Tatum Paxley and Ivy Nile shock the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions?

    WWE NXT 2.0 for 9/20/22
    Wendy Choo vs. Cora Jade

With the Generation of Jade in ‘full swing’, the most recent threat to ending this era is the sleepy superstar, Wendy Choo. Choo appears to have put Tiffany Stratton behind her. In saying that, is, Cora Jade finished with Roxanne Perez? It’s highly unlikely that Perez is finished with Jade.

Will Choo take advantage of others trying to end the Generation of Jade, or will Cora use others’ aggression against her to her advantage?

    #1 Contenders Match
    Tyler Bate vs. JD McDonagh

Both men have faced Bron Breakker, and neither came out on the winning side of those matches. This time both men who are very familiar with each other from their time in NXT UK and the UK in general. McDonagh is a former NXT Cruiserweight Champion, and Bate is a former two-time NXT Champion.

This time around, however, one of them will face Breakker leaving the other behind. Tyler Bate is no stranger to NXT, as he has competed on NXT TakeOver’s. But McDonagh’s new edge has made fans of NXT wonder what he is willing to endure in facing his opponent.

Bate has proven he can take on men bigger than him, so in facing McDonagh, it will be his time to prove how far into the deep end he is willing to go to beat JD.

    What To Expect

    • Grayson Waller to address what is next for him
    • Cameron Grimes addresses Joe Gacy and Schism
    • Solo Sikoa speaks about what he has planned for the NXT North American Championship.

What do you anticipate will happen this week in what could be a new era in NXT? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
