In a recent interview with The Swings and Mrs. Podcast, CM Punk shared on a series of different topics. One of which was the possibility of an in-ring return. While he has admitted that the answer to the question has changed he did share this bit of insight. However, after the interview, Will Ospreay offered his thoughts to CM Punk’s comments.
“The answer changes. It’s a very fluid answer. Currently, if the business was right and I had somebody that motivated me across the ring from me, I think, might be able to get it done. Nobody has dangled the correct carrot…
..As far as people that I’ve worked with before, if there was a clean slate, if the money was right, I think a guy like Daniel Bryan, I would go, ‘I would listen to your idea.’ If you said John Cena, I’d probably listen to your idea. Rey Mysterio, I would listen to your idea. For people I haven’t ever wrestled before, I think Will Ospreay, I would listen to your idea.”
As mentioned before he’s said he’d listen to their ideas. However, even in listening that isn’t to say it may necessarily come to be. With that said, NJPW’s Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay who has never hidden his thoughts offered the following response to CM Punk’s comments.
Just an idea & because we could all use something to focus on to get us through this hard time right now.
Save January 4th & get some reps in.
Help the business move forward instead of being a “spoke on the wheel”
This might be click bait. But a Great White just bit.@CMPunk https://t.co/53TIKpUaZc

As many fans are aware January 4th is a popular date as it is when New Japan Pro Wrestling’s biggest event of the year airs in Wrestle Kingdom. Ospreay didn’t take Punk’s mention of his name lightly. As the inclusion of a match between the two of them would certainly fill an arena. It would at the least increase in streaming purchases for the event. While it is too soon to tell now what the result will be, fans can be assured that Ospreay is listening to CM Punk’s thoughts and is committed to doing business.
