TNT Championship Battle Royal – AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 5/27/20

Welcome to the latest edition of AEW Ignite! On the heels of an excellent Double or Nothing pay-per-view on Saturday night, it is the beginning of a new era in All Elite Wrestling. It seems we are building for a second ever Fyter Fest later this summer. A TNT Championship Battle Royal was announced for tonight’s show. The winner receives a shot at Cody and the TNT Championship. What else will we learn on, and the future of AEW this Wednesday night?

Mike Tyson Appearance

Mike Tyson appeared on Saturday night to present the TNT Championship to the first ever Champion. As Jake “The Snake” Roberts attempted to interfere at the end of the match, Mike Tyson stood in the way. This distracted Lance Archer who quickly lost the match to Cody.

We know Mike Tyson is going to be live on Dynamite on Wednesday night. We don’t really know what the purpose of his appearance is. Would Roberts or Archer dare to confront “The Baddest Man on the Planet”? It should be an interesting moment for sure.

Britt Baker Addresses Her Injury

Everyone’s favorite dentist has been on a roll in recent months. Sadly, Britt Baker was injured on last week’s Dynamite. She was forced to be removed from a pay-per-view match with Kris Statlander. Where does Baker go from here?

The rumor is Dr. Baker could have suffered an ACL injury. That injury could keep her out of action for weeks, months or even a year. Let us all hope that she will give us good news and return to the AEW Women’s Division soon.

Inner Circle Pep Rally

The Stadium Stampede match was one of the most unique matches you will ever see. You either really loved it or hated it. I would personally be in the former category. Regardless of your thoughts, the Inner Circle lost in a major way to The Elite at Double or Nothing. How does one group overcome such a devastating debut?

It seems the answer is to hold a big pep rally. I don’t exactly know what that means but apparently it will be led by Chris Jericho to open the show on Wednesday. After Saturday night, I would expect the unexpected. Will Chris Jericho be able to raise the spirits of his team after their difficult defeat? It is hard to say but it will be entertaining to watch to say the least.

Cody has worked so hard to win his first title in All Elite Wrestling. Since he is now the first ever TNT Champion, the sights will quickly turn to who will be his first challenger. He won’t have to wait very long.

On Wednesday night, we will have a Battle Royal. The winner of the Battle Royal will get a title shot against Cody on June 3rd. The big question is who will be in the match itself? We simply do not know. But we do know that Cody has made a lot of enemies in the brief AEW History. Cody’s TNT Championship reign could be over in just eleven days. The Battle Royal should be a lot of fun. We will discuss it all on the next edition of AEW Ignite.
