#Preview: Northeast Wrestling Presents – Career vs Crown

Fresh off a historic event last month, NEW is back again with an epic triple main event! Will the newly created LIVE Championship continue to be built on the shoulders of independent wrestling’s hottest talent. Or will a Mercenary claim his bounty in NEW? What happens when a new champion faces off against a hungry battle-tested competitor? A man who went through 29 other men for his shot? And will it take a noble man-scout to finally dethrone a monarch king? We preview Northeast Wrestling’s Career vs. Crown!

Waves & Curls vs. Maine State Posse

Aiden Aggro & The DangerKid are coming off a big loss in an 8-man tag match at the last event. Chris Battle, the tag champs InZanely Rude and the #1 contender Keith Youngblood took the win. Waves & Curls are looking to bounce back. For their second match in NEW since debuting back at Holiday Havoc, the duo known as Waves & Curls looks to continue to rise the ranks in a very competitive tag team division. While I expect W&C to make this interesting, I am looking forward to MSP and Inzanely to mix it up again for the titles.

Prediction: Experience outweighs energy as Maine State Posse gets the win

Wrecking Ball Legursky vs. Mike Verna

An interesting match when it first was announced. Verna and Legursky should be a hard-hitting affair. Legursky has already kicked off 2020 on a high note picking up a big win over longtime rival, Sledge. For Verna, he’s bouncing back after his loss with JT Dunn as they were defeated by Bullet Club superstars Guerrillas of Destiny. If my trajectory is right, and Wrecking Ball is making this a year for himself, this should be another W. And possibly lead to a title match for the LIVE Championship as Northeast Wrestling presents Career vs Crown.

Prediction: The David v. Goliath story leads to Goliath… Wrecking Ball Legursky taking another W

JT Dunn vs. Sledge

As Mike Verna has a tall task ahead of him, his partner JT Dunn will be right there with him facing Sledge. Another David v. Goliath style match up here as Sledge looks to restart his 2020 with a win after coming up short against Legursky. Dunn, whose already calling his shots at Dan Maff after his title win, his focus will be tested against a man with very little remorse. However, that focus will push JT to another level as he continues to call his shot to the championship picture.

Prediction: JT Dunn successfully makes it past Sledge

Brett Ryan Gosselin Open Challenge

I am not sure why Brett Ryan needed this time to induct an open challenge but more power to him. Even though it’s not smart to put such a challenge out to one of the independent’s most illustrious rosters, I expect this may severely backfire on BRG. Sorry, Brett.

Prediction: Brett screws Brett as he loses his own open challenge

Perfect Gamble & Chris Battle vs. The Trust Fund (Richard Holliday & Bear Country) w/ Jared Silberkleit

Will Jared Silberkleit ever run out of money? Probably not. Hence why he’s now enlisted the help of one of the Northeast’s most powerful duos in Bear Country. Along with the aforementioned ‘Air Pod God’ against an amazing ensemble of humanity in Chris Battle, Mike Gamble, and Dexter Loux. Who am I kidding? This entire match is literally full of wresting beef. As fun as Trios matches are, they are built on stamina and skill. If you aren’t familiar with Bear Country, on February 15th, you will quickly realize why they are the most feared men on the independent scene.

Prediction: Money is the motive as the Trust Fund continues to get to the pay window with a W

Adira vs. Ava Everett

Adira is no stranger to the NEW ring. She previously tangled with Tasha Steelz as she looks to create havoc at the NEW Arena. For Ava Everett, she looks to bring her #AvaTaker movement and ‘All That’ comes with it for her debut in a NEW ring. This will definitely be the sleeper of the show as I expect a few clashes between these superstars in the near future.

Prediction: Ava gets a big debut win in her first NEW match

NEW Live Championship Match
Christian Casanova (c) vs. Flip Gordon

Another exciting match and another big title defense for my prediction of 2020’s breakout wrestler of the year in Casanova. Flip Gordon comes in hot making ROH and NWA his personal playground. Including defeating ‘Rookie of the Year’ Brian Pilliman Jr. at NEW’s last event. Casanova, as I previously stated, is making the championship as highly touted as the NEW Championship. After successfully shutting down the ‘Air Pod God’ Richard Holliday, I expect another notch in his belt continuing an impressive reign.

However, Casanova seems to be primed for a long reign to build the lineage of Northeast newest title and build his brand as champion.

Prediction: Many near falls later, Flip under estimates Christian, giving Casanova the win

NEW Championship Match
2020 Over The Top Rumble Winner Keith Youngblood vs. Dan Maff (c)

As expected, NEW grants 2020 Over The Top Rumble winner a match against the champion. But did anyone expect it would be longtime roster staple Keith Youngblood? Or Dan Maff would be on the warpath becoming NEW’s titleholder? Youngblood is outmatched, out experienced, and is a heavy underdog here against Maff. However, the man has a boatload of heart as he was not seen as a potential winner of the 2020 Over The Top Rumble. Does the momentum ride him to the title win during Northeast Wrestling’s presentation of Career vs Crown?

Prediction: Dan Maff defeats and retains his title over Keith Youngblood in an impressive showing

Career vs. Crown
Jake Manning vs. King Brian Anthony

While Dan Matt’s title defense may be the headliner, nothing is as big as this match. King Brian and his court have tormented NEW for years now. And the ‘Man Scout’ has had enough of it! It’s a historic match as Anthony can remove Manning from NEW permanently while Jake can become the one to dethrone the king and remove the crown from his luscious locks. As much as I expect every single member of King Brian’s kingdom to interrupt, disturb, harass and violate this match, Jake Manning will become the hero we never thought we needed for Northeast Wrestling at Career vs Crown.

Prediction: The King is no more as Manning removes Anthony from his seat

Bold Prediction: The big win by Manning leads to an eventual NEW title shot

Once again, NEW plans to put some of the most impressive pro wrestling on display with some eventful storylines going into this one. With Matt Taven also appearing, the question remains though, will Darby Allin return to reclaim his championship? Only time will tell. Would you like to attend Career vs. Crown?
