NXT Preview for 8/24/21 (NXT TakeOver 36 Fall-Out)

On the 8/24/21 edition of NXT, we preview what will be the NXT TakeOver 36 fall out of the show. This past Sunday, fans were treated to five matches on the main show and one on the pre-show. Fans witnessed new champions, arrivals, and potentially scores being settled. However, while there are new champions crowned on this night, it was all about looking ahead. MSK was not on the show as they defended their titles the previous week. Will they have something to say and seek out their next challengers for the NXT Tag Team Titles? The same could be said about KUSHIDA, who is yet to defend his title against Roderick Strong, who earned a title opportunity.

NXT Preview for 8/24/21
NXT Breakout Tournament Finals

Odessey Jones vs. Carmelo Hayes

The finals are here. After weeks of competition, the final match of the 2021 NXT Breakout tournament draws to a close. Of the two men in the final, a great deal of hype has been built around Odessey Jones. Jones is originally from Coram, New York, and his time in NXT is his first bit of training and development in wrestling. While he doesn’t necessarily bring a wrestling background into the ring, he does have an athletic one that could prove to benefit him in the finals.

With that said, Jones stands behind easily one of the most exciting and captivating young talents in NXT, Carmelo Hayes. The former Christian Casanova comes into the finals after turning heads against KUSHIDA and Adam Cole. However, it would be a win here in the finals of all the matches that could put him on the map.

6-Man Tag Match
Hit Row vs. Legado del Fantasma

The growing animosity between these two heel factions is set to come to a head. Swerve has had his grillz removed from his mouth, and Escobar has felt his family’s heritage has been disrespected. So it was only going to be a matter of time before all six men would finally stand across from one another in a match. Fans have seen Escobar promise to settle things amicably with Scott only to have the rest of LDF jump him. This, in turn, set the stage for both Ashante the Adonis and Top-Dolla to come to the aid of Swerve.

All six men battled outside the arena, only for Hit Row to ultimately walk away with their adversaries beaten down. Now, however, this battle is all about cementing their status as the top faction in NXT. Of the two teams involved in this match, unless another person comes to the aid of Legado del Fantasma, it feels as though they are the underdogs going into the match.

What To Expect:

  • Will Ridge Holland keep his promise and have something in store for Timothy Thatcher?
  • What will Kay Lee Ray have to say after coming out after the NXT Women’s Championship Match?
  • What will Cameron Grimes’ first bit of business happen to be as the new Millon Dollar Champion?
