  1. The Elite Returning & New All Out Details?

During Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite, a vignette aired depicting the history of The Elite. Throughout the video, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks “faded” out of many key moments from their AEW careers.

The former AEW World Champion and AEW Tag Team Champions have not been featured on television since AEW All Out when they defeated The Dark Order (Hangman Page, John Silver and Alex Reynolds) to become AEW Trios Champions.

After the event, the trio were involved in a backstage altercation with at-the time AEW World Champion CM Punk… with all parties suspended afterwards. Could we possibly see The Elite return soon?

This also comes as The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Punk’s trainer Ace Steel has been fired, and those close to the situation claim AEW is in talks to buyout Punk’s contract. Dave Meltzer has also gone on to say that several top AEW names, most notably Chris Jericho, were saying they will not work with Punk.

According to Fightful, Jericho confronted Punk backstage at All Out telling him he was “A cancer to the locker room and a detriment to the company.”

2. The Firm Attacks MJF As Moxley Reigns On

Jon Moxley vs. Lee Moriarty Set For Next Week's AEW Dynamite

The main event of this week’s Dynamite saw Jon Moxley successfully retain his AEW World Champion over one-third of the AEW Trios Champions, Penta Penta El Zero Miedo. After the bell Moxley was jumped by The Firm, led by Stokely Hathaway.  None other than MJF, who will challenge Moxley come Full Gear, emerged to put a stop to things by firing The Firm.

Hathaway’s group didn’t take a liking to this, attacking their former employer. Things concluded with W. Morrissey chokeslamming MJF through a table.

The story continued on Friday’s edition of Rampage, after Moxley defeated The Jericho Appreciation Society’s “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard. Hathaway would emerge on the entrance ramp, along with The Firm’s Lee Moriarty, to challenge Moxley to a match on next week’s Dynamite.

The World Champion would of course accept, meaning we will see Moxley vs. Moriarty next week in Baltimore.

Chris Jericho’s first reign as Ring Of Honor World Champion has been nothing short of entertaining. The man who calls himself “The Ocho” has been running through former ROH World Champions, including the likes of Bryan Danielson, Bandido, and mostly recently, Dalton Castle.

After coming up short against The Blackpool Combat Club’s Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli, alongside ROH Pure Champion Daniel Garcia this week, Jericho will again defend his title against a former ROH World Champion on next week’s Dynamite.

4. Multiple New Signings

AEW has reportedly signed multiple new talent to full-time contracts. The first of which, as reported by Fightful on Wednesday, is none other than The Kingdom’s Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, and Maria Kanellis-Bennett.

The trio debuted at the conclusion of the Friday, October 14th Rampage in Toronto, challenging FTR for their ROH Tag Team Championships. Tavern also went on to unsuccessfully challenge TNT Champion Wardlow. Of the three, Kanellis-Bennett has a talent-only contract and is not expected to wrestle.

As reported by PWInsider Elite, both Juice Robinson and Bandido have inked AEW contracts. The September 28 edition of Dynamite saw NJPW’s Juice Robinson go one-on-one with AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and free agent Bandido challenge ROH World Champion Chris Jericho for his title.

With both men impressing in these outings and Robinson recently departing NJPW, this seems like a no-brainer move for AEW. Especially as they continue to build roster depth, before ROH lands a TV deal.

AEW have announced the World Championship Eliminator Tournament is back. In what’s become an annual tradition, the eight-man tournament will culminate at Full Gear on November 19. The winner will receive their title opportunity at Winter Is Coming on December 14. The only two participants announced so far are Dante Martin and The Firm’s Ethan Page.

Kenny Omega famously won this tournament over Hangman Page two years ago, going on to defeat Jon Moxley for the title at Winter is Coming 2020. The 2021 edition of Winter Is Coming saw Hangman Page and Bryan Danielson wrestle to a time-limit draw.
