#NEWS: Northeast Wrestling Announces NEW LIVE Championship Tournament

In wrestling, some things forever go on to be the same, and others change with the times. The important part is, we as fans, welcome the change. It’s all about making sure we see it live. And that’s exactly what Northeast Wrestling is looking to deliver.

Announced via their Instagram account, NEW has released bracket information to crown the first-ever NEW LIVE Champion.

“What is the #NEWLive Championship? It’s a championship for the fans as all title matches will stream LIVE on Facebook and Instagram”, states the social media account. “To assure the fastest and best action possible, all title matches will have a 15 minute time limit (as compared to the usual 20-minute non-title time limit)”.  It was also revealed in the post the first round matches will take place on November 30th at their next event.

Those matches include Chris Battle vs. Christian Casanova, Chuck O’Neil vs. JT Dunn, Mike Verna vs. Wrecking Ball Legursky, and a match between two unannounced superstars. They also announced the NEW Tag Team Championships will be on the line between Maine Street Posse, Danger Kid & Aiden Aggro vs. Inzanley Rude and the debuting Danny Maff vs. ‘The American Sumo’ Mike Gamble.

Tickets are on sale via Northeast Wrestling website. And of course, Pro Wrestling Post will have the full preview of this historic event!

Caul’s Call

I love this idea for the NEW Live Championship. One of the biggest difficulties in the indies is finding something that sets you apart from other companies and this takes the cake for NEW. This not only increases their social media presence but also helps push along some of their bubbling talents that may not yet be ready for a NEW Championship shot just yet. It may be way too early for predictions but I like JT Dunn for this. But we also don’t know the unannounced superstars who may be participating as well (nZo? King Brian? Pillman Jr?). Either way, this should be a fun concept for NEW for years to come and I am here for it!
