In a report from Squared Circle Sirens, Casey former Women of Wrestling champion Santana Garrett has reportedly signed a developmental deal with the WWE. Garrett has achieved quite a bit during her time on the independent circuit including capturing Shine’s championship and tag team championship. Her time with the first season of Women of Wrestling saw her capture it’s singles and tag team champion as well. Santana has competed overseas as well capturing the Wonder of Stardom Championship for Joshi Promotion, Stardom.

Her achievements are not relegated to her time on the independent promotions but on-screen as well with major televised promotions such as IMPACT Wrestling. During her time with the company, Garrett competed under the moniker Brittany feuding with the likes of Angelina Love, Velvet Sky, and Gail Kim. At one point she worked with another former IMPACT Wrestling star and current NXT Breakout competitor in Dexter Lumis before leaving the promotion.

Despite being only 31 years of age, Garrett will continue her working relationship with WWE only now on a more consistent basis. She engaged in several instances in working with the company over the span of six years including facing Charlotte, Asuka, Emma, and Bille Kay.  Most recently, Garrett competed in the 2017 edition of the Mae Young Classic facing NXT UK women’s superstar Piper Niven. In less prominent roles she was part of a number one contender’s battle royal determine who would challenge Asuka for the NXT Women’s championship.

Madison’s Mindset: When the opportunity presents itself the approach is either to make the most of the opportunity or rest on your laurels and allow it to pass you by. In the case of Santana Garrett, there is no doubt that this multi-time champion will not allow this opportunity to pass her by.

Garrett joins other former IMPACT Wrestling Knockout division talent such as Chelsea Green and Mia Yim as part of the NXT brand. The details of Garrett’s deal hasn’t been specified but is likely in line with several of the other recruits for the upcoming Fall class.
