MLW Fusion Alpha Has Arrived

While the buzz has been about AEW, let’s not forget that there is another company looking to be the alpha company in pro wrestling. Major League Wrestling has some of the biggest independent stars in the world, including MLW Heavyweight Champion Jacob Fatu, MLW Openweight Champion, and current number one contender Alexander Hammerstone, Richard Holliday, Davey Richards, Bobby Fish, Alex Shelly, and Tajiri as MLW Fusion Alpha has Arrived.

The Von Erichs are keeping the Texas tradition alive in the tag team ranks. Stars from all over the world are coming to compete in the Opera Cup tournament. Last but not least is Azteca Underground, the organization led by Cesar Duran, which promises to bring MLW to its knees.

Champion vs. Champion…Winner Takes All

Speaking of Jacob Fatu, he has been MLW Champion for over a year now. The Contra Crown jewel has dominated everyone whos been put in his path. With Jacob Samuel and the rest of Contra watching his back, Fatu has a stranglehold on the title. Until now, Your boy Alexander Hammerstone has carved out a nice dynasty, pun intended, of his own. Alexander Hammerstone has also been Openweight Champion for quite some time.

Even though there was a bump in the road deal with Mil Mertes last season, Hammerstone has bounced back. He won the Battle Bowl in Las Vegas, earning him the right to face Jacob Fatu at MLW Fightland. However, at Fightland, the MLW Championship is on the line, but the match will be Title vs. Title winner takes all. This match will change the landscape of MLW forever.

The Opera Cup Returns at Fightland

Last year Filthy Tom Lawler won his “baby” the Opera Cup. This year he is determined to make it two in a row, but several new additions to the MLW roster stand in his way. Most notably, the return of Davey Richards. The American Wolf has laid low over the past years; now, he wants to dominate MLW. In first-round action, Lawlor will take on Richards in what promises to steal the show. Joining them is TNA’s mainstay, Alex Shelly. Shelly is no stranger to this type of competition. He made a name for himself in TNA Impacts X Division; now he’s gunning for MLW.

If Alex Shelly can win this tournament, he will change the game. Bobby Fish is another new addition to MLW. He shocked the future in other promotions now he’s here to electrify the present. Fish’s unique blend of bare-knuckle brawling and technical style should put him as a favorite in the Tournament. However, to win the cup, he first must defeat Lee Moriarty. Moriarity is destined for great things. The Pittsburgh Prodigy wants to add another win to his hometown’s legacy. Will the Steel City native steal the show on October 2. Last season TJP showed his true colors by turning his back on Bu Ku Doa.

This season TJP wants to prove that he can grab the brass ring in MLW. If TJP wins the Opera Cup, no one will hear the end of it. Another MLW draft picks, Matt Cross, has entered the tournament. With his sights set on victory, Matt Cross is more than capable of getting the victory in Philadelphia. What can be said about Calvin Tankman, this super heavyweight from Indiana stepped up big time last season to MLW Heavyweight Champion Jacob Fatu? This season can the big man step up and claim the opera cup? With Momentum on his side, Heavyweight Hustle is capable of bulldozing through anyone.

Tajiri in the Middleweight Title Hunt

The Japenese Buzzsaw Tajiri will make his MLW debut at Fightland. A multi-time cruiserweight champion Tajiri is known worldwide for brutal kicks and, of course, the mist. Tajiri has not been seen in quite some time; it will be interesting to see how he fares in MLW. He is scheduled to compete in 4 way World Middleweight Championship Match against Champion Myron Reed, Aramis, and Arez. Can Myron Reed fend off all three of these phenomenal middleweights? His victory over last year proved Reed is among one of the best middleweight champions MLW has ever seen.

Aramis and Arez are high-flying threats by themselves. It would take a resilient, tough champion like Reed to defeat the two. Let’s not forget that both luchadors have pledged their soul to Azteca Underground. In no way would they disappoint Cesar Duran. We all know bad things happen when you disappoint Azteca Underground. Who will walk away the MLW World Middleweight Champion?
