The independent wrestling weekly news review for 08/03/20 is back for another week. During the last week, GCW and Paradigm Pro Wrestling both held live events. Whereas Zelo Pro Wrestling, Synergy Pro Wrestling, WrestlePro, Mission Pro Wrestling announced more matches for their upcoming shows. Progress Wrestling also released their first statement since going on hiatus after the Speaking Out movement.

Zelo Pro Wrestling will return with their next show Stronger Together on Saturday 15th August 2020 in Chicago, IL. Zelo Pro Wrestling announced this week that their current Zelo Pro Women’s Champion Laynie Luck will defend her title. She will face off against The Queen B, Brooke Valentine.

Game Changer Wrestling held their Keep In Torch event on Sunday, 2nd of August 2020 in Indianapolis. GCW’s Keep In Touch included matches between Joey Janela and ACH, Chris Dickinson and AJ Gray, 44OH and EFFY & Allie Kat, and Kylie Rae and Cole Radrick.

Frightmare Will Defend His Synergy Pro Championship

Synergy Pro Wrestling has signed another match for their Heatseekers event this week. The event is scheduled to be held on August 29th. The current Synergy Pro Wrestling Champion Frightmare will defend his title against Brandon Kirk. Heatseekers event will be available to watch on FITE TV.

WrestlePro has announced IMPACT wrestler Fallah Bahh will face off against the Jersey Muscle Jock, Steve Gibki at their What Ever event. What Ever will be held on the 22nd of August in Union, NJ. Joey Janela will also face Myers for the first time ever at WrestlePro’s event. Both the WrestlePro Gold Championship and CAP Championship will be up for grabs.

Paradigm Pro Wrestling held their first-ever Paradigm Pro Wrestling’s PAWCADE on the 2nd of August 2020. An Amish street fight featured on the show. You can watch Paradigm Pro Wrestling’s PAWCADE on IWTV.

Paradigm Pro Wrestling Announce UWFI Rules Event 

Paradigm Pro Wrestling has announced its next event UWFI Rules as their 3rd-anniversary show. The show will take place on September 25th, 2020 as Sellersburg, Indiana. They have announced that Flash Thompson and Justin Kyle will face off in the squared circle. Also, O’Shay Edwards will face Hood Foot Mo Atlas at UWFI Rules. Tickets for UWFI Rules go on sale on Friday, 7th of August.

New Wave Pro Wrestling announced Nate Matthews will face Miles Morales in a rematch at NWP Higher Ground on Saturday, 8th August 2020. NWP Higher Ground will be shown on IWTV.

TNT Extreme Wrestling released more details this week surrounding their Halloween events. TNT Extreme Wrestling’s A Nightmare On Fleet Street will take place on the 31st of October 2020 at Fusion Nightclub in Liverpool. A Nightmare On Fleet Street will be presented as a family event.

Whereas TNT Extreme Wrestling’s Supreme Extreme will take place on the 30th of October 2020 as Dan Moloney is set to debut for the promotion. Supreme Extreme will be presented as an 18+ event.

TNT Extreme Wrestling To Host First All-Female Event 

TNT Extreme Wrestling’s third Halloween show will take place on the 1st of November dubbed Sirens Fury. Sirens Fury will be the promotion’s first all-female event.

Mission Pro Wrestling has announced more matches for their first event named Hell Hath No Fury. The event is set to take place on Friday, 18th September 2020. La Rosa Negra will face AEW’s Big Swole, Rok-C will face Jenna Van Muscles, Raychell Rose will compete against Elayna Black. A tag team match will also be featured on the show. As Vert Vixen & Jenna Lynn meet Promise Braxton & Killa Kate in the ring. Mission Pro Wrestling also announced current NWA World Women’s Champion and Mission Pro Wrestling founder Thunder Rosa will defend her NWA World Women’s Championship. Thunder Rosa will defend her title against Lindsay Snow at Hell Hath No Fury.

St. Louis Anarchy has continued arrangments for their next event, Spirt of Spaulding on August 7th and August 20th. To protect talent, staff, and fans from COVID-19 St. Louis Anarchy will provide everyone with a free mask on arrival.  These must be worn for the whole show. St. Louis Anarchy will also receive everyone to have a temperature check on arrival. They will also receive hand sanitizer will be available at three different spots within the arena.

PROGRESS Wrestling Issues Statement On New Measures  

PROGRESS Wrestling has issued an updated statement this week. This is their first statement since going on hiatus after the Speaking Out movement. They outlined ‘specific measures’ which have been brought in by the promotion since their hiatus. These include; stating ‘mandatory DBS checks being required for all staff and UK talent’. That ‘only accredited people to be permitted backstage’. And ‘the commitment to have a Lead Safeguarding Officer for talent and crew’. ‘Plus the hiring of an Independent Wellbeing Officer to advise talent, crew and audience members.’

PROGRESS Wrestling continued their statement announcing new documentation talent and staff must sign off on before events. These include,

‘[an] manifesto, safeguarding policy, a whistleblowing policy, codes of conduct [for talent, referees and crew] and audience policy.’

PROGRESS Wrestling also stated they will be releasing a new Disciplinary Procedural Protocol at a later date. These new measures have been introduced while the promotion works closely with the Wrestling All-Party Parliamentary Group or APPG to create a safer wrestling industry within the United Kingdom.

PROGRESS Wrestling announced a new structure within the promotion. Jon Briley has been announced as the sole owner of Progress Wrestling, though ‘he is currently on hiatus due to an ongoing health condition.’ PROGRESS stated that James Amner will run the company’s operations. Lucy Cave will focus on safeguarding and digital communications.
