FTR Debuts In All Elite Wrestling

Things were looking nasty for The Young Bucks on last night’s episode of Dynamite. After their match with Matt Hardy against Private Party and Joey Janela, Butcher and Blade came out to rough up the brothers. Butcher and Blade managed to get the better of The Bucks until a black vintage pickup truck rolled into Daily’s Place. Out of the truck stepped Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood, formerly The Revival in WWE, who ran to the ring as though they intended to help lay the beatdown. But instead, they sent Butcher and Blade packing before having a brief staredown with their new rivals The Young Bucks. As FTR Debuts In All Elite Wrestling.

If you watch Being The Elite, Matt and Nick Jackson’s YouTube show, this has been a long time coming. After weeks of teasing us with the letters FTR, it was clear that Wheeler and Harwood, formerly Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson, would debut sooner rather than later. The only question was what their debut would entail.

It is interesting to note their use of the initials FTR as a name. It appears the initials stand for Formerly The Revival, but the three letters meant something else initially. As The Revival were on the rise in WWE, they referred to themselves as the best tag team alive. The Young Bucks didn’t take this claim lightly, and began saying “F*ck The Revival” as a running joke. WWE, not appreciative of the joke, issued a cease and desist order in 2018. The BTE crew then started saying FTR, but refused to explain what it meant. The Revival attempted to capitalize on this with “#ForeverTheRevival” but the fans knew what it meant.

There’s plenty to be excited about now that FTR is officially part of AEW. WWE released Wheeler and Harwood from their contracts on April 10th of this year. The duo was unhappy with how their old employers portrayed the tag team division. FTR show a passion and dedication to tag team wrestling that will help in AEW‘s growth.
