Friday Night Smackdown Synopsis for 10/25/19 (Team Flair and Cesaro vs Team Hogan)

Friday Night Smackdown kicks off from the Sprint Centre from Kansas City, Missouri. It begins with the ring filled with Team Flair members and Team Hogan members. Not all of the members were in attendance. Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, and Ricochet were not in attendance. Chad Gable is dressed like a member of the Golden State Warriors. Hulk Hogan spoke about how his team is the greater of the two. Next, Ric Flair said he’s as proud of his team. Each member of both teams had an opportunity to address each other. Hogan attempted to set up a six-man tag match but Zayn was quick to say they’d take it under advisement. They leave the ring but then Hogan suggests the match again and they agree. However, Zayn couldn’t compete and Cesaro decides to take his place with Team Flair to take on Team Hogan. It then starts right away. Or at least we think it does until the two teams separate.

The New Day vs Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler

After the commercial break, New Day made their way to the ring followed by Roode and Ziggler. The match kicks off and its the combination on Kingston and Big E as Xavier Woods is likely going to be out of action for some time. With Kingston knocked out to the floor, the cut to commercial again. Back to the match, Big E is in and he is hitting Ziggler with multiple suplex variations. He then clotheslines Robert Roode and then tags in Kofi Kingston. Kingston then gets rolled up from behind by Ziggler.

After the bell, each of the men in the tag division on Smackdown gets involved in the match. The Revival and Heavy Machinery come out while Lucha House Party and B Team watch on from the back.

We then get a replay of the debut of Smackdown on Fox a few weeks ago with Tyson Fury’s appearance. A history of Fury and Strowman crossing paths multiple times was shown as they two are slated to face off with one another.

Lacey Evans vs. Camron Conners

Upon entering the ring Evans gets on the microphone. She says she isn’t going to waste her time and compete. Evans climbs out of the ring and the referee proceeds to count. As the referee approaches the 10 count, Evans runs back in the ring and clocks Conners with the women’s right. Evans makes the cover and pin.

Winner: Lacey Evans

Nikki Cross is interviewed by Michael Cole and Corey Graves while she was backstage. Cross addressed facing Bayley for the championship and Mandy Rose whom she would be facing later on in the evening.

After the commercial break, we get a replay of Seth Rollins’ attack of the Firefly Funhouse and his burning of it down two weeks prior. The Firefly Funhouse returned to what was the funeral of Ramblin Rabbit. We then have Bray Wyatt says that it was to be an open casket to which we see what is a blood-splattered Ramblin Rabbit. Bray comforts the doll and in brought it back to life! He tells him that he is safe here until Mercy the Buzzard eats Ramblin Rabbit again.

Drew Gulak vs. Kalisto

Before the match begins, Gulak also says that wanted to introduce himself and then wanted to present ways Braun Strowman could lose against Tyson Fury. We get past one slide until Kalisto breaks it up. Upon putting Kalisto in a torture rack, Braun Strowman comes to the ring distracting Gulak. Gulak gets caught with the Salina Del Sol. Kalisto makes the cover for the count of three.

Winner: Kalisto

After the match, Strowman comes into the ring and grabs Gulak by the hair and lifts and hits him with a running power slam. Strowman asks for the microphone and fans continue to chant ‘one more time’. To which Strowman obliges and says that this is what happens when he gets in the ring with him. He then warns Tyson Fury with what is coming his way.

Backstage Daniel Bryan is shown walking as Michael Cole says he will ask him if ‘Is the YES movement back?’ After the commercial, Michael Cole welcomes to the ring Daniel Bryan. Cole addressed what has happened to Bryan in the past few weeks. He spoke of how the crowd has erupted in YES chants. Cole asks him if the YES movement is back to which Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn interrupt. Zayn showed how Bryan said the YES movement is dead. Zayn said that everything Bryan said was true and that he is a good and honorable person.

Sami said to Bryan that he has nothing in common with these people. Zayn called the three of them all ‘artists’. He said that he could go backward or you could move on. Zayn said that he could make the world a better place alongside Nakamura and Sami Zayn. After looking to the crowd for a few moments, Bryan walks past both of them and continues down the aisleway looking conflicted.

A story of a Breast Cancer survivor is shared from an employee of WWE.

Mandy Rose vs Nikki Cross

After commercial we see Rose getting into the ring as Nikki Cross makes her way to the ring with Bayley and Sasha Banks at ringside on commentary. Rose decks a distracted Cross with a fist and then proceeds to work on the number one contender for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Mandy continues to work on Cross and hits a fallaway slam on Cross.

With Sonya Deville at ringside, she decks Cross with the referee unaware. Cross gains control and hits a crossbody off the top rope. She then dropkicks Sonya Deville and the comes back and hits the purge on Mandy Rose. She gets the three count and the win.

We then get Cain Velasquez and Rey Mysterio make their way to the ring in what is going to be a face to face confrontation. Mysterio said that the beating that his son took from Brock Lesnar was the worst day of his life. Rey spoke about how Brock has done whatever he’s wanted whenever he’s wanted and that he will pay for what he’s done. Mysterio then calls out Brock but then Heyman answers via video screen from the backstage area. He said that he won’t go face-to-face with Velasquez.

Heyman said can they guess whom will he be doing what he’s been doing what to. To which we see an unconscious Domenic backstage with Brock over top of him. Mysterio and Velasquez then proceed to run to the back to get to him.

After a commercial break we are shown that Rusev, Bobby Lashley and Lana are going to be on an upcoming edition of The King’s Court on Monday Night Raw. Also the Kabuki Warriors, Kairi Sane faces Becky Lynch.

How will Team Hogan fare against Team Flair and Cesaro later on in the evening?

Medics are taking care of Domenic when Brock comes in and whips Rey Mysterio like a dart across the wall. It brought back memories of the infamous Kevin Nash snake eyes into the side of a trailor as part of nWo. Lesnar then decks Velasquez with a garbage can and then picks him up for an F5. He F5’s Velasquez onto an already prone Domenic. I probably shouldn’t be laughing but it couldn’t watch and couldn’t help it. I’m not a sadist, I’m really not. The acting at the beginning of the segment and Lesnar’s coming in and wiping the floor with everyone had me in stitches.

King Corbin, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Cesaro with Ric Flair vs. Roman Reigns, Shorty G and Ali with Hulk Hogan & Jimmy Hart.

After the commercial break, we get Cain Velasquez continues to scream something at Brock and looks infuriated. We then cut back to the ring and Team Flair and Cesaro attack the members of Team Hogan. Reigns and Corbin go at it with one another in the corner. Nakamura is tagged in and Shorty G is tagged in and begins to have an exchange with the Japanese star. Ali is then tagged in and he locks in an armbar on Nakamura. Nakamura is able to break free and tags in Cesaro. The Swiss Superman continues to beat down Ali. Ali makes a comeback and a distracted Ali is wiped out by Cesaro and then King Corbin.

After the commercial break, Corbin cuts off the ring forcing Ali in their corner. He then tags in Nakamura who continues to work on Ali. Ali is able to fight off the efforts of his allies and attempts to make his way to Reigns who is beaten down. Short G is tagged in and begins to take the fight to Corbin, and Nakamura. He then hits a moonsault and attempts a pin but only for a count of two! Cesaro comes in and Shorty G tosses him in an over the top suplex. Shorty G makes the tag to Roman Reigns who then powerbombs Cesaro. Cesaro then swings Reigns and then locks him into a sharpshooter. Ali then breaks up the submission attempt and then Corbin is eliminated as is Shorty G and Nakamura. Reigns then attempted a spear who is caught with a neutralizer. Roman hits a superman punch and then a spear. He tags in Ali who hits a 450 splash for the three count.

Winner: Roman Reigns, Shorty G and Ali
