DEFY WRESTLING RETURNS TO PORTLAND JULY 20TH for DEFY Wrestling Presents – Swerve vs Aries II. At DEFY Wrestling’s debut event at a sold-out Hawthorne Theater, they announced that DEFY would be returning July 20th! When it was announced that on July 20th the reigning DEFY and IMPACT World Champion Austin Aries would be granting Shane Strickland a rematch. This is the most anticipated match in recent Pacific Northwest history.
Back on April 13th Austin Aries made his first appearance in DEFY and put up his IMPACT World Championship against then DEFY Champion Shane Strickland in a title versus title match. The match was not without controversy, as at one point it appeared that Strickland had defeated Aries to win the IMPACT crown, only to have the referee that was inadvertently knocked down disqualify him. After multiple stoppages and re-starts, the dust settles to have Aries hand raised in victory. The scheduled event is sure to capture the attention of all involved.
From fans to talent, this match leading to a rematch between Strickland and Aries surely won’t disappoint. For those that saw their first encounter are likely very excited about this matchup. Who would you want to see compete on the card? Will fans see the likes of Artemis Spencer or Ravenous Randy Myers? Whoever does show up fans can anticipate something special!
The event is 21 and over with ID and tickets can be purchased at www.DefyWrestling.com or the Hawthorne Theater website.
