With Emergence firmly in the history books, it’s time to look ahead to Victory Road. As of September 1st, we know that Christian Cage will defend the IMPACT World Championship against Ace Austin. As usual, more of the card will become clear to us as we march closer to September 18th. There are many twists and turns in the road ahead, and Brace For IMPACT is here to help you navigate them. Here’s what you can expect from Nashville this Thursday night on IMPACT Wrestling as we Brace for IMPACT for 9/2/21.

DECAY (Crazzy Steve & Taurus) vs. Fallah Bahh & No Way
Crazzy Steve & Taurus are in an interesting position right now. DECAY currently holds some gold, in the form of Havok & Rosemary’s Knockouts Tag Team Championships. However, Steve and Taurus have nothing. Looking at how things are playing out for them on TV, it seems like the only way they could be further from title contention is if they were Reno SCUM. However, Thursday night could be the start of something new, as they face off against Fallah Bahh & No Way in tag team action.
Bahh & No Way have had some limited success as a tag team, usually as part of a larger team. But that’s okay, as No Way is filling in for the injured TJP. Their match with DECAY on Thursday night is an opportunity for Fallah Bahh & No Way to work on their chemistry and improve their future chances at the IMPACT Tag Team Championships.

Ace Austin (w/Madman Fulton) vs. Tommy Dreamer
Last week on IMPACT Wrestling, Christian Cage made his way to the ring to speak about his match at Emergence. Having successfully defended the IMPACT World Championship, He’s looking ahead to his next opponent, Ace Austin, who defeated Moose, Chris Sabin, and Sami Callihan at Emergence. As Cage gave his promo, Tommy Dreamer came out to help put him over. Tommy Dreamer made it clear how much he respects Christian Cage, and how much he missed working with him.
Along with that, Dreamer confessed he would love nothing more than to wrestle against Christian Cage one last time. Austin took affront to this, saying Dreamer hasn’t earned his shot. That’s when Tommy Dreamer, in his role as IMPACT Wrestling Commissioner, booked a match for this week. Tommy and Austin will meet this Thursday, and should Tommy Dreamer win, he’ll be added to the IMPACT World Championship match at Victory Road.
Rohit Raju & Mahabali Shera vs Matt Cardona & Chelsea Green
Rohit Raju has made himself a thorn in Matt Cardona’s side in recent weeks. One week before Emergence, Cardona had a match with IMPACT newcomer John Skyler. During that match, Raju and Mahabali Shera came to ringside, distracting Cardona and costing him the win. At Emergence, Cardona defeated Raju in singles action.
The following week, Cardona defeated Shera in singles action. This week, he’ll have to face both, but seeing as he doesn’t have a tag team partner, Cardona brought in his fiancée Chelsea Green. Will this mixed tag team match be the end of the Cardona/Raju feud? We’ll find out this Thursday on AXS TV.

Josh Alexander’s Open Challenge
Since becoming X-Division Champion, Josh Alexander has been all too happy to take on all comers. He proved as much at Slammiversary, overcoming 5 other men to retain his title in an Ultimate X match. Now, with no obvious #1 Contender, The Walking Weapon has decided to host an open challenge. Usually, an open challenge is an opportunity for everybody, but Josh Alexander has issued a stipulation. Only a former X-Division Champion may answer the challenge.
This allows us to narrow down the options quite a fair bit. Of the 46 men who have held the X-Division title, 10 still work for IMPACT Wrestling. Among those names are Petey Williams, Chris Sabin, and Eddie Edwards. However, there are other wrestlers who could show up. Thanks to the talent sharing agreement with AEW, we could see Frankie Kazarian answer the call. We’ll just have to watch IMPACT Wrestling this Thursday night on AXS TV to find out.
What Else to Expect
- Knockouts Tag Team Action
- Trey Miguel in action
