Brace For IMPACT for 7/22/21 (Slammiversary Fallout)

IMPACT Wrestling fans had high expectations from this year’s Slammiversary. After last year’s installment gave us surprise returns and debuts, we wondered who IMPACT could have booked for this year. IMPACT Wrestling delivered in spades, with Thunder Rosa, Chelsea Green, and No Way making their debuts along with the return of Finjuice and Mickie James. But most shocking of all, NEVER Openweight Champion “Switchblade” Jay White stepped into the IMPACT Zone for the first time. Saturday night may very well have been the beginning of a new era for IMPACT Wrestling. So without further ado, brace for IMPACT as we dive into what you can expect this Thursday, 7/22/21, on AXS TV.

Ace Austin & Madman Fulton vs. FinJuice

At Slammiversary, David Finlay and Juice Robinson made their return to IMPACT Wrestling after a two-month absence. That night, they faced off against the impromptu pairing of Madman Fulton and Mahabali Shera. Unfortunately, the two big men had little chemistry, and FinJuice toppled them in less than two minutes. Following the short loss on Saturday, Fulton must be aching to get some payback on Finlay and Robinson.

As regulars in the IMPACT Wrestling tag team division, Austin and Fulton have quite good odds on Thursday night. However, of the two teams, only FinJuice have held the coveted IMPACT Tag Team Championships. Find out what happens this Thursday night when FinJuice return to AXS TV to take on Ace Austin and Madman Fulton.

In the lead-up to Slammiversary, we got many hints that someone would make their IMPACT Wrestling return. On July 8th, Gail Kim returned to IMPACT Wrestling to announce that Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo would defend against a mystery opponent. At Slammiversary, Thunder Rosa debuted in IMPACT to challenge Deonna Purrazzo.

The Virtuosa retained against the debuting star, but afterward, Mickie James made her presence known. The legend of the Knockouts Division spoke about how happy she is to be back with the company. But now it’s time she sets her eyes back on the top prize. On Thursday night, Mickie James announces her intentions with this new run in IMPACT Wrestling.

Brian Myers, Sam Beale, & Tenille Dashwood vs. Matt Cardona, Chelsea Green,& Jake Something

After months of quiet, Brian Myers and Matt Cardona have picked up their feud right where they left off. When last they met in singles action back on April 25th, Myers defeated Cardona, and that seemed to be the end. In the interim, Myers has taken the up-and-coming Sam Beale under his wing, teaching him what it means to be a professional wrestler. In teaching Sam Beale about being a professional wrestler, Myers has repeatedly made an example of Jake Something.

On July 8th, as Myers worked over Jake Something, Matt Cardona returned to make the save. The following week, Cardona and Jake Something prepared to take on Myers and Beale, only for Tenille Dashwood to attack Matt Cardona. At Slammiversary, Cardona evened the odds by enlisting Chelsea Green. Thursday night, two clans go to war as Brian Myers teams up with Sam Beale and Tenille Dashwood to take on Matt Cardona, Chelsea Green, and Jake Something. The Myers/Cardona feud rages on!

Chris Bey vs. Rohit Raju (w/Mahabali Shera)

On Saturday night, Josh Alexander retained his X-Division Championship in a 6-Man Ultimate X Match. Now that we’ve had the PPV blowout, it’s time to pick up the pieces and see where everyone stands in the division. To that end, Chris Bey and Rohit Raju, two of the other contenders, will face off in singles action. As former X-Division champions, both men are chomping at the bit to get another taste of championship glory.

As usual, Rohit Raju has Mahabali Shera at ringside as an insurance policy. However, I doubt that will matter, as it was The Desi Hitman who pinned Chris Bey to win the X-Division Championship. That bad blood may be the deciding factor this Thursday night when Chris Bey faces Rohit Raju.

Fire ‘n’ Flava vs. Havok & Rosemary (c)
– Knockouts Tag Team Championship

Fans of the Knockouts Division have had a hard time believing their eyes when it comes to Havok and Rosemary. After years of feuding, the dark duo came together in a bid to capture the Knockouts Tag Team Championships at Slammiversary. Being the entitled heels they are, Tasha Steelz and Keira Hogan invoked their rematch clause for this Thursday night. T

hat kind of thinking did them well when they recaptured the championships from Jordynne Grace & Raechel Ellering, but will it do them any good with Havok & Rosemary? And what more mind games can we expect from DECAY? Find out on an all-new IMPACT Wrestling this Thursday night on AXS TV

Following an absolute belter of a main event, IMPACT Wrestling and AEW World Champion Kenny Omega, The Good Brothers, and Don Callis stood together in the ring. They raised a “Too Sweet” to each other, and the lights went out. Then a familiar logo appeared on the video screen. It was the Bullet Club logo. Who should step out onto an IMPACT Wrestling stage for the very first time but the leader of the Bullet Club himself, “Switchblade” Jay White. But what could Jay White want in IMPACT Wrestling? Find out when the NEVER Openweight Champion speaks on this week’s episode of IMPACT on AXS.
