Brace For IMPACT for 3/02/21 (#1 Contender’s Match for X-Division Title)

IMPACT Wrestling executive Scott D’Amore dropped a bombshell announcement at the end of last week’s episode. A9midst a brawl between IMPACT World Champion Rich Swann and TNA World Champion Moose will meet at Sacrifice. D’Amore also announced that IMPACT Wrestling now acknowledges the TNA World Championship, and they will meet in a unification match. Additionally, Fire ‘n’ Flava will defend their Knockouts Tag Team Championship against Jordynne Grace & Jazz the same night. We know precious little else about the card, but we hope to learn a bit more after the events of Tuesday night’s IMPACT Wrestling. This is Brace For IMPACT for 3/02/21.

Chris Bey vs. Black Taurus vs. Ace Austin (W/Madman Fulton)
#1 Contendership for the X-Division Championship

Last Tuesday, Chris Bey, Black Taurus, and Ace Austin defeated Willie Mack, Trey Miguel, and Josh Alexander in 6-Man Tag Team action. This week, they face each other in a triple threat match to determine a new #1 contender. On paper, this is anyone’s match. Each competitor carries their own significant advantage going into this match. Black Taurus carries a major strength advantage over both of his opponents. Meanwhile, Ace Austin has his faithful bodyguard Madman Fulton in his corner. While it may seem like this leaves Chris Bey at a disadvantage, it’s always possible for him to finesse his way into a victory. But no matter who wins this match, the better question is, can any of these men defeat TJP at Sacrifice?

Brian Myers (w/Hernandez) vs. Eddie Edwards
– Special Guest Referee: Matt Cardona

Last week, IMPACT Wrestling scheduled Brian Myers to face Eddie Edwards in a rematch from their match on January 26th. That match ended in a disqualification after Edwards gouged Myer’s eye with his thumb. However, when it came time for Myers to step into the ring for the rematch, he instead rolled footage of his lawyer. The lawyer stated that Myers is pursuing legal actions regarding the toxic workplace environment that led to his irreversible eye damage. Due to the state of his eyesight, Brian Myers had not been medically cleared to compete, and as such, Hernandez took his place. This week, doctors cleared Myers to face Eddie Edwards again. However, this time his former tag team partner Matt Cardona will be the special guest referee. Can we trust Matt Cardona to call this match down the middle? Find out on IMPACT Wrestling.

Deonna Purrazzo vs Jordynne Grace

Since recruiting Kimber Lee and Susan as henchwomen, Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo has had precious few singles matches. Whenever a would-be challenger steps up to face The Virtuosa, Kimber Lee and Susan show up to defend her. It happened when Rosemary faced Purrazzo for the championship at Final Resolution and again when Taya Valkyrie challenged for the title at Hard to Kill. Lately, Jordynne Grace and Jazz have had their eyes on championship gold. Along with the returning ODB, they defeated Purrazzo, Kimber Lee, and Susan at No Surrender. Last week, Jazz and Jordynne Grace defeated Kimber Lee and Susan in tag team action. Having torn through Deonna Purrazzo’s protective barrier, Jordynne Grace now has a match against the Knockouts Champion. A win on Tuesday night earns her the right to challenge for the championship. Will she prevail?

The Good Brothers & FinJuice vs. XXXL & Reno Scum

Last week, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson spoke with David Finlay and Juice Robinson. The Good Brothers had just finished defeating XXXL in a non-title match, and FinJuice gave congratulations. David Finlay and Juice Robinson reeled off a number of The Good Brothers’ other accomplishments, adding that they truly are the best tag team at professional wrestling…hungover. Gallows and Anderson took offense to that statement, and this week they’re going to have a little contest with FinJuice. In their IMPACT debut on February 16th, FinJuice defeated Reno Scum, and last week The Good Brothers defeated XXXL. This week, FinJuice and The Good Brothers are teaming up to face XXXL & Reno Scum in a friendly competition to see who gets the win first. But if FinJuice gets the win on Tuesday night, could we be seeing them take on The Good Brothers for the tag team titles?

What Else To Expect

  • Jake Something continues to build his name in IMPACT Wrestling.
  • Sami Callihan pushes his luck with Trey Miguel.
  • Tenille Dashwood and Kaleb with a K to appear
