Brace For IMPACT for 10/28/21 – Bound for Glory FALLOUT!

Brace For IMPACT for 10/28/21. IMPACT Wrestling put on a mother of a blowout last Saturday night at Sam’s Town in Las Vegas. We got not one but six new champions at Bound For Glory. First, Jordynne Grace became the inaugural Digital Media Champion, Trey Miguel captured the vacant X-Division Championship, and The IInspiration knocked off DECAY to become Knockouts Tag Team Champions.

Then, in the most anticipated match in IMPACT Wrestling history, Mickie James defeated Deonna Purrazzo for the Knockouts Championship.

And in the main event, Josh Alexander defeated Christian Cage for the IMPACT World Championship. Moments later, Moose cashed in his Call Your Shot Gauntlet victory to stand tall with the IMPACT World Championship. With that many twists and turns in one night, what might we expect on Thursday night? Thankfully, Brace For IMPACT is here with your weekly breakdown of what you can expect this Thursday night on AXS TV.

Tasha Steelz (w/Savannah Evans) vs. Rachael Ellering (w/Jordynne Grace)

The post-Bound for Glory episode begins with two competitors eager to jumpstart their momentum. With Steelz still reeling from her finals loss at Knockouts Knockdown and Rachael Ellering recovering from the Call Your Shot Gauntlet, it only makes sense to have someone in their corners. While Tasha Steelz has the ever-powerful Savannah Evans in her corner, Rachel Ellering has answered with a woman of similar power, Jordynne Grace.

But will it be enough for Ellering to have the inaugural Digital Media Champion in her corner? Find out as these two women clash to see who rises in the Knockouts Division.

Joe Doering (w/VBD) vs Heath (w/Rhino)

At Victory Road, Karl Anderson pinned Rhino to capture the IMPACT Tag Team Titles. On the following episode of IMPACT Wrestling, Eric Young, Joe Doering, and Deaner brutally assaulted Rhino for his failure. That’s when Heath returned to the IMPACT Zone following a year-long absence due to injury. Heath cleared the ring to save his former tag team partner, but when it came time to return the favor, Rhino declined.

Heath forged ever onward, challenging Violent By Design to a tag team match at Bound For Glory. But who would be his partner? Last Saturday night, we learned that whatever bad blood existed between Heath and Rhino is water under the bridge, as they reunited to defeat Deaner and Joe Doering. But that feud has just begun, as Heath will face Joe Doering one on one this Thursday night!

Ace Austin (W/Madman Fulton) vs. Chris Sabin

Last Saturday, Chris Sabin looked like he was going to go all the way, winning the Call Your Shot Gauntlet from #1. However, Madman Fulton crushed that dream when he illegally re-entered the match in retaliation for Sabin’s elimination of Ace Austin. Thursday night, these two odds-on favorites and former X-Division champions clash one-on-one.

As usual, Austin has Madman Fulton in his corner. Having feuded with Aces & Eights, Chris Sabin is no stranger to the numbers game. Might he have some unexpected backup this Thursday night on IMPACT Wrestling?

Rocky Romero vs. Trey Miguel (c)

– X-Division Championship

New X-Divison Champion, Trey Miguel (pictured on the left) defends his title when he faces Rocky Romero (pictured on the right) [Photo: IMPACT]
After years of falling short in the big matches, Trey Miguel pinned El Phantasmo to capture his first X-Division Championship. Shortly after the match, Miguel claimed he would be a fighting champion and stand up to all challengers. It seems Miguel’s clashes with NJPW crossover stars have only begun. NJPW LA Dojo staple (and Sonal Lad interviewee) Rocky Romero debuted in IMPACT Wrestling at #2 in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet.

Overhearing Miguel’s claims of being a fighting champion, Romero challenged for his newly- won X-Division Championship this Thursday night. Does Romero have a game plan to defeat Trey Miguel, or is he relying on Trey’s history of losing championship matches?

Mickie James in the IMPACT Zone!

In what might be the most hyped match in IMPACT Wrestling history, Mickie James defeated Deonna Purrazzo to capture the Knockouts Championship. With her victory, Mickie James ended Purrazzo’s 343-day championship reign. Purrazzo’s time as champion is marked by controversy and, for lack of a better word, cowardice. Mickie James will be eager to right those wrongs as she begins her reign as Knockouts Champion.

But Mickie James is one of the architects of the knockouts division. What does she intend to prove with her fourth reign as Knockouts Champion?  Will, she re-define the division like she did all those years ago? Find out what’s on Mickie James’ mind as she addresses the IMPACT Zone this Thursday night on IMPACT.
