Welcome back to Brace For IMPACT for 12/2/21, your weekly breakdown of the goings on in IMPACT Wrestling. Last week we saw the return of Wrestle House, a fun little Thanksgiving special with the stars of IMPACT Wrestling. This week we return to the grind as the promotion winds down the year 2021. With the year end awards special looming, everyone in the IMPACT Wrestling locker room is eager to leave their mark in the last few tapings. This is your breakdown of the December 2nd episode of IMPASCT Wrestling.

One of the big surprises coming out of Turning Point was the arrival of JONAH. Following his release from WWE, the former Bronson Reed has burst right out of the gate, appearing for NJPW and IMPACT Wrestling in the same week. First, he appeared at NJPW STRONG event Battle in the Valley, attacking FinJuice.

The following Saturday at Turning Point, JONAH cut off Josh Alexander’s in-ring promo with a vicious attack leaving the former IMPACT World Champion bloodied. But what could this enormous Australian have planned for the IMPACT faithful? This Thursday night, JONAH returns to the IMPACT Zone to explain his actions.

Since losing the support of Kimber Lee and Su Yung, Deonna Purrazzo has been in a rough spot. In the lead-up to her match with Mickie James, The Virtuosa had to do all the dirty work herself. That’s simply not Purrazzo’s way. Lately, she’s been developing a new partnership with the “Drama King” Matthew Rehwoldt, pushing him to be more than the glorified jobber he was in WWE. Thanks to this push, Rehwoldt approached Sabin following his victory over Ace Austin at Turning Point.

Rehwoldt said he’s a big fan of Sabin’s work and wanted to understand “The art of Sabin,’ and the best way to understand the art of Sabin is with a match. The 8-time X-Division Champion agreed to this unusual challenge and will face The Drama King this Thursday night on AXS. Judging by his Twitter, Matt Rehwoldt is quite excited for this match, saying, “I’ve admired the work of Chris Sabin for a long time – this will be an honor. …I will also punch him in the face.”

Rich Swann & Willie Mack vs Violent By Design (w/Eric Young)

Over the past few weeks, Violent By Design have set their sights squarely on Rich Swann and Willie Mack. It seems there’s some unfinished business from back in the summer, and possibly even from last year. It also seems like Rich Swann has become one of Eric Young’s favorite targets, given the war the two had over the IMPACT World Championship last year. With Hard To Kill looming in January and no challengers for the IMPACT Tag Team title in sight, every win matters in the tag team division.

Will Swann and Mack send VBD out of their lives for good? Or will Swann and Mack become two more victims of Eric Young’s demented “might makes right” philosophy? Find out this Thursday on IMPACT Wrestling.

What Else To Expect

  • More from Brian Myers and The Learning Tree
  • Knockouts division action
