AEW Rampage for 6/10/22

This week’s preview of AEW Rampage for 6/10/22 comes on the heels of an electric edition of AEW Dynamite. It features four matches, including a debut match and a trios match-up. On this past week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, we witnessed the arrival of Will Ospreay and the United Empire in an attack on FTR and Trent Beretta.

We also heard a backstage interview with Jade Cargill, Stokely Hathaway, and the rest of the Baddie section as they address the challenge by Athena, Kris Statlander, and Anna Jay. Here is AEW Rampage for 6/10/22.

FTR and Trent Beretta vs. Will Ospreay and Aussie Open

One of the most shocking moments of the night on this past Wednesday’s show was the appearance of United Empire leader Will Ospreay. As Ospreay made his way to the ring, fans didn’t expect Aussie Open and Aaron Henare in their four-on-three attack of FTR and Trent Beretta.

As the moment had unfolded, Harwood and Wheeler said that Beretta should be upset with United Empire’s Jeff Cobb and Great-O-Khan, who cost Beretta and his partner Rocky Romero’s Ring of Honor tag team championship opportunity.

But their attack was meant to make a statement, and that statement was the United Empire had arrived in AEW, and they are coming to take over leading into their upcoming Forbidden Door pay-per-view with New Japan Pro Wrestling. Does it start this coming Friday night?

Eddie Kingston vs. Jake Hager

On top of the ongoing vendetta between Kingston and the Jericho Appreciation Society, this match further builds on that. For those that watched Dynamite this week, Kingston and Hager were a part of the AEW Casino Battle Royal to determine who would face Jon Moxley in the main event to move on and contend for the interim AEW World Championship.

As the match would unfold, Hager, along with fellow Jericho Appreciation Society’s Daniel Garcia, would cost Kingston his chance at winning the battle royal. After the match, Kingston would conduct a backstage promo, and it was at that time when he said he wanted to seek revenge on Hager for what took place. He has sworn to make a statement on the head of Jake Hager ahead of their Blood and Guts match involving other Jericho Appreciation Society members.

Red Velvet vs. Kris Statlander

On this past week’s edition of Dynamite, we witnessed a backstage segment that helped to promote this upcoming match. In what is a case of former friends now adversaries, Red Velvet sheds her face persona as a full-fledged part of Jade Cargill’s entourage. For Kris Statlander, she has new alliances but isn’t far removed from her past ones. Red Velvet wants to make a name for herself at the expense of Statlander.

Will she be able to overcome the odds of facing the much taller Statlander? If there was any time when she could overcome those odds, it would be on this night. Velvet won’t likely be alone. With Kiera Hogan, Jade Cargill, and Stokely Hathaway potentially at ringside, there is no doubt a Statlander win won’t necessarily come easily.

The Debut of Satnam Singh and Jay Lethal

With Sonjay Dutt by their side, it appears that Satnam Singh will make his in-ring debut this week on Rampage. While his debut was met with mixed results, even by Tony Khan’s admittance, it would be about rethinking how to approach it. Their ongoing issues with Samoa Joe could likely come to a head in this match.

It will be important to see how Singh fairs in this match. If anything, he is surrounded by such pros that will take care of him in Dutt and Lethal, but it will ultimately be on him to prove himself.

What To Expect:

  • We hear from Hook and Danhausen
  • Wardlow and Scorpio Sky further address their potential future TNT Championship match.
  • The triple threat AEW Tag Team Championship between The Hardy’s, The Young Bucks and Luchasaurus, and Jungle Boy is further discussed.
  • Upcoming Blood and Guts match-up with all involved.
