AEW Rampage for 10/8/21 (AEW Tag Team Championship)

It’s that time again; another edition of AEW Rampage is on the way with the preview for the 10/8/21 episode. Let’s check out the action in store for this week. We have four matches on the card this week. First off, CM Punk will be in action once again, taking on up and comer Daniel Garcia. Then we will see Jade Cargill in action with Smart Mark Sterling by her side, taking on a newer face to AEW Skye Blue. Next, we will also see the AEW World Tag Team Titles on the line as the Lucha Bros look to defend their titles against The Acclaimed.

In other action, we will also see “Absolute” Ricky Starks put his FTW Championship on the line against former champion and former stablemate Brian Cage. We will also see Darby Allin address the fans regarding his recent attack and an update on his condition as he gets ready to take on MJF soon. Yet another week of hour-long action-packed wrestling, let’s get to the previews.

CM Punk vs. Daniel Garcia w/ 2.0

This week we will see the veteran CM Punk take on another newer talent in Daniel Garcia, who has had 2.0 by his side for quite some time now. Since coming back to wrestling, we have seen CM Punk in action a couple of times, and it appears he has honestly not missed a beat. After seven years out of action, he has had quite the streak so far here in AEW. Daniel Garcia will have his hands full this week as he goes head to head against Punk.

This will surely be another interesting matchup. We have seen 2.0 in the corner of Garcia, will they get involved and help Garcia pull off an upset win over CM Punk? Or will we see CM Punk continue his winning ways since he has come to AEW? One thing is for sure both these men are very talented, and this will be a great match to witness.

Jade Cargill w/ Smart Mark Sterling vs. Skye Blue

Jade Cargill surely is one of the top performers in AEW’s Women’s Division, that is for sure. Whether you like her or dislike her, her winning streak and record speak for themself. This week she will take on a newer face to the AEW Women’s division in Skye Blue. One thing is for sure if Skye Blue can win this match, it surely would elevate her in the ranks of the division, as Cargill is one of the top-ranked women.

It seems that it could be a tough feat, though, as we have seen Cargill take on and defeat many of the top women in AEW, even defeating former Women’s champions. So will this be another notch in the belt of Cargill and keep her undefeated streak going, or will Skye Blue take the win and start paving her path to join the AEW Women’s division officially this week?

AEW World Tag Team Championship

The Lucha Bros (c) vs. The Acclaimed

This will be one of two title defenses on Rampage this week. We will see The Lucha Bros put their titles on the line against The Acclaimed. The Lucha Bros have earned these titles and shown that they are one of the top tag teams in AEW, no doubt about that. The Acclaimed have also carved quite a name for themselves since arriving in AEW. Max Caster and Anthony Bowens have yet to wear any gold since being a part of the tag team division, so there is no doubt that they are definitely going to give it their all this week.

Lucha Bros also doesn’t look like they are ready to give up their titles anytime soon. We have seen the Lucha Bros defend their titles successfully since winning them in the cage match against the Young Bucks. The Lucha Bros still are currently undefeated at 12-0 for their record, and The Acclaimed are holding up at 17-3, which is still very impressive. This week could be their time to shine and take the titles from the Lucha Bros. Will we see The Acclaimed pick up their first title reign?

FTW Championship Match

– “Absolute” Ricky Starks (c) vs. “The Machine” Brian Cage

This match has been building up for a while. Former stablemates as part of Team Taz, Ricky Starks, and Brian Cage definitely know each other quite well. In recent weeks, especially since Starks won the title, we have seen “Absolute” Ricky Starks, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Hook ganging up on Brian Cage and poking the bear, if you will. Cage held the title for quite a while before losing it to Starks back in July, thanks to assistance from Powerhouse Hobbs.

It certainly seems Cage is on the warpath to regain the title and show Starks that he is not the one to mess with. Cage certainly does possess an impressive physique and strength that could surely be enough to take back the title. Starks, however, has his buddies in Team Taz who are no strangers to interfering on his behalf. Will Cage hit his breaking point and regain the title this week on Rampage?

What to Expect?

  • Will we see either of the two championships change hands this week on Rampage?

  • Where will Darby Allin’s head be after the brutal attack from MJF and the Pinnacle when he addresses the AEW fans?

  • Will Jade Cargill remain undefeated, or will Skye Blue pull off an impressive victory over the powerhouse?
