The biggest news coming out of last week’s Dynamite was the huge announcement of a six-man tournament to determine the new AEW World Champion as we preview AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 9/14/22. On this week’s AEW Dynamite, we will enter the semifinals of the Grand Slam Tournament of Champions.

Toni Storm & Hikaru Shida vs. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. & Serena Deeb

At AEW All Out, Britt Baker was willing to do whatever it took to win the AEW Interim Women’s World Championship. That included betraying her long-term tag team partner Jaime Hayter. Hayter walked out on Baker in disgust after the match ended in Chicago.

On Wednesday night, Britt Baker is back in tag team action. Her partner will be the dangerous Serena Deeb. Can she work well with Serena Deeb? Britt Baker hopes to insert herself into title contention in this huge tag match against Hikaru Shida and Toni Storm. But can she get it done without Hayter? Only time will tell.

Jon Moxley vs. Sammy Guevara

Jon Moxley wanted to take some time off after his heartbreaking AEW World Championship loss at AEW All Out. But with the backstage issues going on in All Elite Wrestling, he decided to stay for one more shot at the AEW World Championship. Jon Moxley proves once again that he truly is the “heart and soul” of AEW.

On Wednesday night, he faces Sammy Guevara in a hotly anticipated semifinal match. Guevara is coming off a huge, though controversial, victory over his rival Darby Allin on last Friday’s AEW Rampage. Can the cocky Guevara pull off the biggest victory of his career? We know Moxley will give it his all with another chance at the AEW World Championship on the line.

Chris Jericho vs. Bryan Danielson

On last week’s AEW Dynamite, Bryan Danielson won an incredible match over Hangman Page in the first round of the Grand Slam Tournament of Champions. It was Danielson’s first victory over his newfound rival, Page. This Wednesday night, however, Danielson has a match with an older rival.

Chris Jericho and Bryan Danielson had an intensely physical match at AEW All Out. It ended only when Jericho resorted to a low blow to take the controversial victory. Danielson gets another chance at Jericho in this massive semifinal match. Will they have another technical classic? We know Danielson will be ready for all sorts of underhanded tactics that the “Lionheart” will throw at him on Wednesday night. It should be a great way to end another memorable AEW Dynamite.
