This week’s AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 5/11/22 is time to begin the men’s and women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournaments. I cannot wait. AEW Double or Nothing is about two weeks away, and the PPV event will feature the crowning of the inaugural winners. On this week’s AEW Dynamite, we will officially start the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

The show also features another CM Punk match and a FTW Championship match. It should be another fun night for All Elite Wrestling fans. Let us find out more about the vast show in Long Island in the latest edition of AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 5/11/22.

MJF and Wardlow’s Contract Signing

On last week’s AEW Dynamite, MJF finally agreed to a match against Wardlow. It seems Wardlow could finally be free of his contract with MJF. But MJF demanded a contract signing first in his home of Long Island.

How will MJF be treated by his hometown fans? Last time they were in Long Island, he was welcomed quite positively. But Wardlow has become one of the most popular stars in AEW. It will be fun to see what MJF has in store for Wardlow in their upcoming match and how the crowd reacts.

Danhausen vs. Tony Nese

Tony Nese is angry. He is sick and tired of Hook and Danhausen getting all the attention. After all, Nese is the hottest free agent in AEW. So he is going after the most dangerous wrestler in all of AEW, Danhausen.

This will be Danhausen’s AEW in-ring debut. He is very nice and very evil. But can Danhausen keep up with Tony Nese on Wednesday night? It is hard to say, but we know one thing: someone is getting cursed. 

CM Punk vs. John Silver

John Silver will have a home-field advantage on Wednesday night. One of AEW’s most underrated performers; he will prove a tough test for CM Punk. He will be extra motivated to “soften up” Punk before Punk’s upcoming match against Hangman Page at AEW Double or Nothing.

Is CM Punk ready for John Silver? Silver has always impressed in high-profile matches. If Punk is looking ahead to Hangman Page, he might be ripe for an upset on AEW Dynamite.

Jungle Boy is looking to add to his title collection. He has won a lot of huge tag team matches in his AEW career but not as many in singles action. Can he get a big one on Wednesday night? Team Taz will undoubtedly do everything in their power to hold onto the title originally created by Taz himself.

The Owen Hart Foundation Tournament begins with an interesting match-up. It is Adam Cole versus one-half of FTR in Dax Harwood. Adam Cole has been one of the hottest stars in all of AEW. His only losses are against the AEW World Champion in some truly brutal matches. Can Cole get his tournament off to a good start?

His opponent is Dax Harwood. Harwood had a classic match against his tag team partner Cash Wheeler to qualify for the tournament. Can Harwood pull off the upset in the Owen Hart Tournament? It will certainly be fun to watch him try to win a tournament in the honor of the Hart family.

The Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament kicks off with the highly anticipated match-up. Toni Storm and Jaime Hayter have been at each other’s throats since Storm’s debut on March 30, 2022. They get each other in singles action on Wednesday night.

Toni Storm & Ruby Soho defeated Britt Baker & Jaime Hayter in tag team action on last Friday’s AEW Rampage. Can Storm maintain the upper hand on Wednesday night? We know Hayter and her allies will be desperate for the victory. Can Storm overcome the odds yet again and get a spot in the semifinals?  

Darby Allin vs. Jeff Hardy

It will be the battle of two of the most daring wrestlers in professional wrestling today; Jeff Hardy will get a shot against Darby Allin for a spot in the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament semifinals. So what will these two risk-takers be willing to do for this rare chance to win the inaugural tournament?

This could be a real changing of the guard moment. The 44 year old Jeff Hardy will be going against the 29 year old Darby Allin. Can Hardy keep up with Allin at this point in his career? It will be fun to find out on Wednesday night in this exciting quarterfinal match.
