AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 11/17/21 | (Lethal vs. Guevara)

Wednesday Night marks a special homecoming for one anxious millennial cowboy as we present AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 11/17/21.  AEW Full Gear was another great pay-per-view on Saturday night. Hangman Page finally winning the AEW World Championship after two long years was undoubtedly the highlight of the night. So what comes next for Hangman and the rest of the AEW roster in the final months of 2021?

We have five matches announced for this week’s AEW Dynamite. Bryan Danielson in action, and Lio Rush will team with Dante Martin yet again. We will also see the first quarterfinal match in the TBS Women’s Championship tournament.

On top of that, Jay Lethal debuts for AEW in a TNT Championship match and we will see Tomohiro Ishii’s AEW debut. AEW seems quite ready for an exciting post-Full Gear show. Here’s more of what you can expect this Wednesday night in Norfolk, VA, in this week’s AEW Dynamite IGNITE.

Nyla Rose vs. Hikaru Shida
(AEW TBS Women’s Championship Quarterfinal)

The TBS Women’s Championship tournament has gotten off to a great start. Hikaru Shida and Serena Deeb put on a fantastic show in the first round of the tournament. What is Shida’s reward for that big victory? It is a quarterfinal match against Nyla Rose.

Nyla Rose will be out for some major revenge. Rose lost the AEW Women’s Championship to Shida at Double or Nothing last year. Shida defeated Rose a second time to retain the AEW Women’s Championship at last year’s Full Gear. Does Shida have Rose’s number? If she does, she could get one step closer to the TBS Women’s Championship.

Bryan Danielson vs. Evil Uno

Bryan Danielson defeated Miro in a physical, brutal match on Saturday night to win the AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament. So what will be next as he awaits his World title match with Hangman Page?

Danielson is not one to rest and simply wait for his match with Hangman Page. He will be fighting Dark Order member Evil Uno on Wednesday night. Evil Uno has been winning a lot of singles matches in the recent months. It will be a tough test for Danielson against one of Page’s closest allies. What role will Hangman play in this match on AEW Dynamite? It will be fun to watch.

Dante Martin & Lio Rush vs. The Acclaimed

Dante Martin has quickly become one of the hottest young talents in All Elite Wrestling. The 21 year old wrestler has been impressing AEW crowds with his unique high flying abilities. He has also gained the attention of Team Taz and The Acclaimed as well.

Martin rejected The Acclaimed’s offer to join their group on Saturday night. On Wednesday night, Martin will work with his mentor, Lio Rush, in a tag team match against the Acclaimed. The chemistry of this match should provide some explosive high flying action. And will Team Taz be waiting in the wings? We have a lot of storyline possibilities for the talented Martin going forward into the end of 2021.

Orange Cassidy & Tomohiro Ishii vs. The Butcher & The Blade

“The Forbidden Door” has swung wide open for AEW Dynamite.

The feud between Orange Cassidy and Matt Hardy seemed to end after his loss to Hardy on AEW Rampage. But the Butcher & The Blade challenged Orange Cassidy to find a tag partner for Wednesday night. As a new member of CHAOS, Cassidy picked Tomohiro Ishii.

Ishii is one of the best wrestlers in New Japan Pro Wrestling. The “Stone Pitbull” is also the NEVER Openweight Champion. He will never disappoint in a wrestling ring. The American audience is in for a huge treat on AEW Dynamite. It will be a physical battle in Norfolk.

Sammy Guevara (c) vs. Jay Lethal
(AEW TNT Championship)

Jay Lethal is All Elite! With the impending hiatus for Ring of Honor, their very talented roster is free to join any wrestling promotion. The Ring of Honor legend Jay Lethal was the first to make the jump before the Full Gear main event. Lethal wasted no time making an impact in All Elite Wrestling.

Lethal called out the TNT Champion Sammy Guevara as part of the TNT Championship Open Challenge. Will Guevara be ready for the talented Jay Lethal after the brutal  10-man Minneapolis Street Fight? We might just have a new champion after Wednesday night.

What To Expect:

  • Will there be a fallout next for CM Punk and Eddie Kingston after their brutal match at Full Gear?
  • What will happen with the Elite after the events of Full Gear?
  • How will the Norfolk crowd react to the new AEW World Champion Hangman Page?
