Jake Hager vs. Ricky Starks

The Jericho Appreciation Society wasn’t in the best mood last week. Chris was riding a two-match losing streak, with his latest loss being to Ricky Starks in Seattle. As the JAS tried to talk last week, they were interrupted by a bragging Starks. He even insulted Hager’s hat!

It is time for Hager versus Starks in Fresno. Starks is certainly riding high after his huge win two weeks ago. Will he look past the dangerous Hager? If he does, it could be a major upset, and the JAS would like nothing better than to get some revenge on Wednesday night.

Willow Nightingale vs. Toni Storm

This is a battle of two superstars going in opposite directions. Toni Storm was in the middle of a huge tag team match when Hikaru Shida tossed a kendo stick into the ring. Britt Baker used this on Toni Storm to pick up the victory for her team. Can Storm get back on track?

Storm’s opponent on Wednesday night will be Willow Nightingale. Willow is coming off the biggest win of her career, a bloody Street Fight on AEW Rampage. Can Willow Nightingale build on her momentum? This match could go a long way to determine the next contender for the AEW Women’s World Championship.

Hangman Page Speaks w/ Renee Paquette.

Last week on AEW Dynamite, Hangman Page pulled off a shocking clean victory over Jon Moxley. Moxley simply doesn’t lose much in All Elite Wrestling. Moxley seemed to be suffering from a concussion post-match.

On this week’s show, Renee Paquette will interview Page. What will Page do next after his important victory? And is this the end of his feud with Moxley? A lot of questions should be answered in Fresno.

The Young Bucks vs. Top Flight

Last week on AEW Dynamite, the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega won a crazy Ladder match to regain the AEW World Trios Championship. It was a long and grueling series for the Elite to win back the titles they never lost. But Matt and Nick Jackson are certainly not getting any rest Wednesday night.

In Fresno, the Young Bucks will face the talented Top Flight. Top Flight has impressed in a series of matches against the Blackpool Combat Club recently. Can they take advantage of a clearly weakened Bucks and pick up the big victory? It will be another fun match in that talented tag team division.

Bryan Danielson vs. Bandido

It is time for match two in Danielson’s month-long series of matches. If Bryan can keep winning until February 8th, then he will get an opportunity for the AEW World Championship against MJF at AEW Revolution. The first match was a brutal one against Konosuke Takeshita. It doesn’t get any easier on Wednesday night.

The second opponent for Bryan Danielson is Bandido. The talented luchador and former ROH World Champion is a very different test for Danielson. The clash of styles should be fun to watch as well. Can Bandido pull off his biggest win in AEW? If he does, MJF will surely be thankful.

Orange Cassidy (c)
vs. Jay Lethal
(AEW All-Atlantic Championship)

Last week on AEW Rampage, Paul Walter Hauser arrived to celebrate with the AEW audience his Golden Globe win. That is until Jay Lethal’s group arrived to hit Hauser with Jarrett’s guitar and steal his Golden Globe. What a bunch of heels.

Orange Cassidy and the Best Friends made the save after the attack. On this week’s show, Cassidy defends his AEW All-Atlantic Championship against Jay Lethal. Orange has been a truly fighting champion, but the highly decorated Lethal is at a whole nother level. It should be a great title match in Fresno.

Darby Allin (c) vs. KUSHIDA
(AEW TNT Championship)

Darby Allin is certainly not resting since winning the TNT Championship in Seattle two weeks ago. He has defended that title against Mike Bennett and Juice Robinson on the last two AEW Rampages. The TNT Open Challenge is returning to AEW Dynamite and Darby Allin sure has a formidable opponent.

KUSHIDA will face Darby on Wednesday night in Fresno. KUSHIDA, the New Japan legend, is a six-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion. He has wrestled all around the world in his seventeen-year career. Can Darby Allin possibly be ready for a challenge like KUSHIDA after so many title defenses? It will be quite a challenge.

What To Expect:

  • Will we get an update on Moxley?
  • Will Hikaru Shida explain her actions during last week’s tag team match?
  • Will MJF be contractually obligated to appear in Fresno?
