While the concept of the blind eliminator tournament is that anyone can be paired with anyone, the pairings in this match are surprisingly star-studded. “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy, reigning AEW International Champion, has been paired with 2-time TNT Champion Darby Allin, who held that belt for a combined 214 days.

In the opposite corner are former AEW World Tag Team Champions “Limitless” Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland. Formerly Swerve In Our Glory, Lee and Strickland parted ways shortly after losing the belts and shortly before the latter became leader of Mogul Associates.

While Allin and Cassidy have teamed together sparingly in the past, they’ve always managed to work as a unit. This may give them an edge over now-bitter rivals Lee and Strickland. However, could the potential of a World Tag Team Championship match be enough to reunite Swerve In Our Glory? Find out this Wednesday at 8pm on TNT.

Dr. Britt Baker, DMD vs. Ruby Soho
– Women’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament Quarterfinal

Ruby Soho on Twitter: "Let's run it back. Except this time, I'm gonna win the whole damn thing." / Twitter

This Wednesday night the Women’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament Quarterfinals wind to a close with a rematch from last year’s finals. Inaugural Women’s Owen Hart Cup winner Dr.Britt Baker, DMD will face off against inaugural runner-up Ruby Soho.

It is unlikely we will see a repeat of last year’s final, however, as Ruby has a couple of cards up her sleeve. Her Outcasts stablemates Saraya and AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm have been known to step in when the need arises. Showing up on Wednesday night would tell us the Outcasts intend to dictate the outcome of the whole tournament.

A former Women’s World Champion herself, Dr Britt Baker has her work cut out for her in this Owen Hart Cup Quarterfinal closer.

MJF & Adam Cole In Action!

Among the early surprises in the Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament has been the pairing of AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman and #1 Contender Adam Cole. Since the duo was drawn for the tournament, AEW fans have been blessed with a number of odd-couple vignettes featuring the unlikely pair.

Their current positions in the All Elite Wrestling singles rankings should have those two bickering all through the tournament. . But who could MJF and Adam Cole face in their opening match? With such pairings as Lee/Strickland and Allin/Cassidy in the tournament, Cole and MJF could have to face a team with far less volatile chemistry.

However, the history of pro wrestling has shown countless times that championship gold can bring even the most mismatched tag team together on the same page. Can MJF and Adam Cole stick it out til the bitter end, or will the AEW Champion and his #1 Contender stumble at the first hurdle?

Kenny Omega vs Wheeler Yuta

AEW Dynamite match graphic featuring Kenny Omega vs. Wheeler Yuta.

In the shocking climax of the Anarchy In The Arena match at Double or Nothing, Konosuke Takeshita double-crossed Kenny Omega, choosing to side with Don Callis rather than The Elite. While Takeshita had Omega distracted, Blackpool Combat Club’s Wheeler Yuta struck Omega with a screwdriver before catching him in the Seatbelt for the win.

Making matters worse, Kenny Omega lost his IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship to bitter rival Will Ospreay the following month at Forbidden Door II. With a number of high-profile losses over the past months, Kenny Omega’s 2023 doesn’t look to be panning out the way he planned.

This Wednesday, he has the chance to set the record straight when he takes on Wheeler Yuta, the man who pinned him at Double Or Nothing, in one-on-one action. Yuta is certainly a hungry young competitor, and a win over the first man to hold the top titles in AEW’s singles and tag team divisions would be the biggest of his career. Find out if he can pull it off without the BCC at his side this Wednesday night on Dynamite.
