AEW Dynamite Diatribe for 11/13/19 (SCU vs Guevara/Jericho)

Hot off the heels of Full Gear, there is plenty of action on-hand for this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. There are plenty of matches on this week’s show, including the main event with the AEW World Tag Team Championship on the line when SCU faces Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho. Without further ado, let’s get underway from Nashville, Tennessee!

Jon Moxley, who won at Full Gear in a Lights Out Match with Kenny Omega – he has not been cleared to compete – makes his way to the ring for the opening bout.

Match 1: Jon Moxley vs. Michael Nakazawa

Nakazawa tosses his signature baby oil aside, immediately taking the fight to Moxley. However, Moxley quickly takes control, attacking Nakazawa in the corner. Moxley plants Nakazawa with the Paradigm Shift for the quick 1… 2… 3!

Winner: Jon Moxley

Post-match, Moxley takes the mic, asking if this match counted. He says that he delivered at Full Gear and that Omega will never be the same again. Moxley says he respects Omega for stepping in the ring with him and doesn’t believe anyone else can do the same. He says he’s on a pilgrimage to scorch the earth of AEW until he’s the last man standing. Moxley invites anyone to test themselves against him and requests they kiss their loved ones goodbye beforehand.

Match 2: Dark Order (Grayson and Evil Uno) vs. Jurassic Express (Marko Stunt and Jungle Boy)

Grayson starts things off with Stunt until Evil Uno tags himself in. Stunt lays in a series of quick attacks before tagging in Jungle Boy. With Grayson as the other legal man, they exchange techniques, with Jungle Boy taking control. Jungle Boy tags Stunt, who lands a hurricanrana on Grayson before tagging Jungle Boy back in. Jungle Express follows up with tandem offense. Jungle Boy tags Stunt back in but is overwhelmed by Dark Order, the legal man Evil Uno laying out Stunt with a big kick followed by a senton atomico for a two-count.

Evil Uno tags in Grayson, who lands a big slingshot apron on Stunt on the apron. Evil Uno is tagged back in and he continues the attack on the smaller Stunt. Grayson is tagged back in as we cut to commercial. Returning from the break, Evil Uno is in control of Stunt, but the latter catches the larger opponent with a big DDT! Stunt makes the hot tag to Jungle Boy, who attacks with suicide dives and quick-paced strikes alike! Jungle Boy tags in Stunt, but Evil Uno is able to tag Grayson, who gets caught with a double superkick followed by a 450 dragonrana by Stunt!

With Dark Order out of the ring, Jungle Boy goes for a suicide dive, only to be quickly taken out. Back in the ring, Grayson hits the Nightfall backbreaker on Stunt. Dark Order lands The Fatality on Stunt for the 1… 2… 3!

Winners: Dark Order

After the match, Uno grabs the mic, saying that the fallen Stunt shows promise. Uno swears Stunt purpose if he joins Dark Order. Stunt goes for the mask, but Jungle Boy rips it away before checking on Stunt. Dark Order’s minions suddenly attack Jungle Boy and Stunt! They start to put the Dark Order mask on Jungle Boy until Luchasaurus makes his entrance! Luchasaurus cleans house of the minions! Luchasaurus steps in the ring to confront Dark Order, knocking out more minions in the process. Luchasaurs chokeslams Grayson and follows up with a standing moonsault to a huge ovation! Jurassic Express embrace and celebrate in the ring.

Match 3: Shawn Spears (w/Tully Blanchard) vs. Peter Avalon (w/Leva Bates) vs. Darby Allin

Pre-match, Avalon takes to mocking the Tennesse crowd. The match itself begins with “Let’s Go Darby” chants. Avalon goes for a flying cross body but misses Allin and Spears. With Avalon on the outside, Spears and Allin exchange chops. Allin executes a smooth springboard arm drag on Spears to send him to the outside as well! Avalon reenters the ring but is quickly sent back out by a running dropkick. Spears pushes Allin off the top rope and continues the attack on the smaller wrestler. Spears goes to the outside to hit an apron backdrop on Avalon before Joey Janela makes his way down the ramp! Spears and Janela brawl through the crowd.

Back in the ring, Allin hits an over-the-top stunner on Avalon followed by the Coffin Drop for the 1… 2… 3!

Winner: Darby Allin

After the match, Allin takes the mic, accepting Moxley’s challenge! They will face off next week!

Match 4: Nyla Rose vs. Dani Jordan

Jordan starts with some quick strikes, but Rose swats her away. Rose misses a big boot but strikes Jordan down to the mat with ease. Jordan evades a chokeslam and slaps Rose across the face to little effect. Rose returns fire with a running clothesline and powerfully whips her into the corner before landing a running splash! Rose drops Jordan and hits a sit-out powerbomb for the 1… 2… 3!

Winner: Nyla Rose

Next week, Dynamite will hold its Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal! We cut to Tony Schiavone alongside Allie, who is up to number 4 in the AEW rankings. Allie says that she has proven himself on Dark and will do so on Dynamite. The lights cut as Awesome Kong makes her entrance alongside Brandi Rhodes. Allie quickly takes the fight to Kong, who overwhelms her with sheer power. Rhodes holds down Allie and, like she did to Bea Priestley, Kong cuts a lock of Allie’s hair as a trophy.

The show returns from commercial with AEW World Champion Chris Jericho, who makes his way to the ring. Jericho, as “Le Champion,” proclaims himself the greatest of all-time. He demands a “thank you” from every member of the AEW roster and officials. Jericho says he has beaten everyone placed in front of him before regarding Cody as an entitled millennial son of a bitch.

Cody’s entrance plays… Only for Maxwell Jacob Friedman to make his way out to a chorus of boos and “asshole” chants.

Friedman addresses the crowd, saying if he didn’t throw in the towel at Full Gear, Cody’s career would have been over. They have been cheering for the real villain, Cody, not Friedman. He says Cody only cares about himself and that Friedman knows who he really is – a liar, a user, and abuser. Friedman claims Cody used him as a puppet and that his thumb isn’t big enough to hold him down. Friedman regards himself as the new face of AEW and that he is better than Cody and he knows it.

Friedman addresses Jericho regarding joining The Inner Circle, both having a comedic exchange of words. Friedman accuses Jericho of enjoying the “bubbly” a little too much. Jericho accuses Friedman of being just like him, from being from Long Island to handsome looks. They continue to exchange comments about Friedman possibly joining The Inner Circle. They declare who the biggest jackass is in AEW… Cody! Laughing, they embrace in the ring.

A stone-faced Cody makes his way down the ramp, attacking Friedman and Jericho! Suddenly, Cody is taken out by Wardlow! He lifts Cody and plants him with a fireman’s carry slam! Friedman instructs Wardlow to continue the attack. Wardlow chokes Cody with his own tie, hanging him over the ropes while Friedman taunts him. AEW officials finally break up the attack as we cut to commercial.

Match 5: Pac vs. Hangman Page

Pac kicks Page in the corner to begin and climbs to the top for a Black Arrow. Page rolls away, but Pac continues the attack with strikes followed by a plancha on the outside! Pac lands a top rope moonsault to the outside! Page avoids another top rope maneuver and attacks Pac, landing a tope on the outside after. Back in the ring, Page plants Pac with a powerbomb for a two-count. Pac and Page exchange strikes, Page catching an airborne Pac with a kick for another two-count. They make their way to the top, Pac knocking Page off and hitting a missile dropkick. Pac goes back up top for another missile dropkick! 1… 2… Page kicks out!

Pac follows Page on the apron, but Page drops Pac on it back first. Page goes up and hits a flying moonsault of his own on Pac before we go to commercial. The show returns to an exchange of strikes between Pac and Page. Pac evades a Buckshot Lariat with a superkick and lands a snap German suplex. Page evades another German suplex and hits a big lariat! Pac catches Page with an enziguri and rolls him up for a two-count. Page takes advantage, ejecting Pac to the outside. Page hits a brainbuster on the outside!

Back in the ring, Page hits the Buckshot Lariat! 1… 2… Pac kicks out! Pac hits Page with pump kicks before stomping away on the back of the head. The official tells Pac to back away, but he continues the onslaught. Pac ascends and lands the Black Arrow followed by The Brutalizer for the victory!

Winner: Pac

The show cuts to the backstage area, where The Young Bucks and Proud-N-Powerful are seen brawling! Ortiz even lands a flying crossbody from a forklift on The Young Bucks! This brawl includes a cameo by Orange Cassidy, simply leaning on the wall. The fight spills to ringside, where the two teams to continue fight, attacking officials along the way. Proud-N-Powerful attack the leg of Nick Jackson before dropping Matt Jackson through the stage! They bring their focus back to Nick, but Brandon Cutler makes his way to stop the attack. They resort to attacking Cutler as well. Private Party makes their way out to confront Proud-N-Powerful, officials having to restrain the groups; these teams will face off next week!

Match 6: SCU (Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky) (c) (w/Christopher Daniels) vs. Sammy Guevara and AEW World Champion Chris Jericho (w/Jake Hager) (AEW World Tag Team Championship)

Pre-match, SCU cuts a promo to hype the Tennessee crowd awaiting the arrival of Guevara and Jericho. The match begins with Kazarian of SCU and Jericho as the legal men and Guevara and Sky on the apron. Kazarian powers Jericho into the corner. Kazarian hits a series of armdrags and nails a dropkick, which causes Jericho to make the tag to Guevara. Kazarian armdrags him as well and tags in Sky, who hits a pendulum backbreaker. Sky tags Kazarian back in as SCU executes tandem offense. Kazarian hits a German suplex on Guevara before SCU lays into Jericho with more tandem offense before the show goes to commercial.

The show returns to Guevara taking control of Kazarian with a dropkick before striking a pose alongside Jericho. Guevara cinches in a chinlock. Kazarian fights back, but Guevara cuts him off with a Spanish Fly. Guevara misses a shooting star press, allowing Kazarian to make the tag to Sky, who hits Guevara with a series of strikes, doing the same to Jericho. Sky hits a neckbreaker on Guevara for a two-count. Sky lands a slingshot stunner to the inside on Guevara followed by a dragon sleeper, which Jericho breaks up. SCU goes for tandem offense on Guevara, but Hager pulls out Kazarian and Jericho on the apron. Daniel responds with a suicide dive, but Hager catches him before sending him into the barrciade!

Guevara catches Sky of SCU with a kick before tagging Jericho. Sky catches Jericho with a TKO! 1… 2… Jericho kicks out! Sky misses an elbow drop from the second rope but gets the knees up to block the Lionsault! Jericho catches Sky with the Codebreaker! 1… 2… Sky powers out! Sky rolls up Jericho for the surprise 1… 2… 3!

Jericho throws a tantrum at ringside, throwing chairs and tearing apart the barricade, as this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite fades to black.
