On the heels of NXT TakeOver’s In Your House, the WWE NXT Preview for 6/15/21 explores the fall out of that event. Fans witnessed five matches that showcased the skills of all its participants. We witnessed one rivalry evolve into something more. As Mercedes Martinez faced the wrath of Mei Ying and her imposing strength and dominance. A new Millon Dollar Champion was crowned as LA Knight climbed the ladder of success to capture the glass-encased Millon Dollar Championship. Both MSK and Bronson Reed walked into TakeOver as champions and walked out of the event as champions. Not to be forgotten, both the NXT Women’s and NXT Championship were retained by their respective champions, Raquel Gonzalez and Karrion Kross.
But a new episode of NXT doesn’t appear to have many answers but rather even more questions as TakeOver drew to a close. With that said, a massive tornado tag match appears to be a key match that is highly anticipated.
WWE NXT Preview for 6/15/21
Tornado Tag Team Match
Timothy Thatcher & Tomasso Ciampa vs. Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson & James Drake)
If any match could stand alone as being one worth the price of admission, it would be this one. Thatcher and Ciampa are once again in a position to be one win away from being thrust into the tag title contention. For Drake and Gibson, this duo is as synonymous with success as any team in NXT or NXT UK. They have captured championships even outside of the promotion. But they face two men that love to fight. In fact, that love to being hit is equal to their desire to hit back and hit even harder. Ciampa and Thatcher have had minor setbacks, but those setbacks only make the journey that much more meaningful.
If one thing can be assured in this match, both teams will come at each other with everything they have, knowing what could be at stake. Will a win here set Thatcher and Ciampa on the path to challenge for the NXT Tag Titles?
William Regal Looks To Bring Change To NXT
As NXT TakeOver In Your House drew to a close, a very distraught and defeated General Manager William Regal closed the show. Regal was asked about what had taken place. He responded that over the course of his seven years, he had never witnessed such chaos. It was at that time when he suggested that it may be time for a change. With this statement, immediately, the discussion turned online that Regal will be stepping down. That has only been cemented with the discussion that with his stepping down, who would be the one to replace him.
If online reports are accurate from Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp and Mike Johnson’s PWInsider, the name speculated to be returning to the fold would be none other than former NXT Champion The Samoan Submission Machine, Samoa Joe. Will this all prove to be true? Fans will have to check into NXT to find out.
KUSHIDA’s Cruiserweight Championship Open Challenge
A new week brings about a new threat. This week the question of who will challenge KUSHIDA is anyone’s guess. It was last week when Carmelo Hayes not only showed up but was competitive along the way. His showing proved that anyone at any time could upset the champion. With that said, the number of names and faces that could challenge KUSHIDA could be anyone from former NXT Cruiserweight Champion Tony Nese to rising stars Jake Atlas or August Grey.
While the list of those who could challenge KUSHIDA are countless, it would also be the ones fans may not have seen on NXT, such as Ari Sterling or someone from either Raw or SmackDown like Mustafa Ali be a threat to step up. It could also open the door for the likes of former champion Jordan Devlin to challenge for the title.
What To Expect:
- Will Franky Monet’s altercation with the Robert Stone Brand evolve into something more?
- What will Killian Dain and Drake Maverick have to deal with if they cross paths with Hit Row again?
- Will will the tandem of Sarray & Zoey Stark continue working together?
- What will Karrion Kross have to say coming out of NXT TakeOver In Your House?
