In an announcement made earlier today, the WWE released a statement regarding WrestleMania and the WWE Performance Center. On Sunday, April 5th the event was slated to take place from the Tampa, Florida. The week leading up to WrestleMania was set to involve a series of events. With each event leading up to the showcase of the immortals would add to the Tampa economy. A great deal of speculation as to what the company would do as the event was set to take place. It became important that they make a decision that was both in line with what the CDC and Florida officials were advising.

“In coordination with local partners and government officials, WrestleMania and all related events in Tampa Bay will not take place. However, WrestleMania will still stream live on Sunday, April 5 at 7 pm ET on WWE Network and be available on pay-per-view. Only essential personnel will be on the closed set at WWE’s training facility in Orlando, Florida to produce WrestleMania.”
While many will question the decision of the event taking place at all on April 5th. However, with the success of today’s No Fans Monday organized by New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Will Ospreay it is understandable why they would attempt it. The concern is that will there be more than 50 people in attendance at the WWE Performance Center for WrestleMania. On the day of the show will talent be shuttled in and out of the venue.
In doing so does it prevent them from surpassing the 50 people maximum at the venue?
Unfortunately, this decision is upsetting for scheduled events leading up to the show. Wrestlecon, WrestleExpo, and The Collective are now faced with a difficult set of circumstances.
