Tessa Blanchard | Indie Spotlight Watch

Perhaps the biggest debut for Women of Wrestling (WOW) will be the third-generation wrestler #WOWofTheDAy Tessa Blanchard. Granddaughter of Joe Blanchard, daughter of Tully Blanchard, and the stepdaughter of Magnum TA give her the ultimate pedigree for wrestling. Tessa rubs a lot of people the wrong way with her attitude of being the best wrestler walking the earth. However, it’s hard to argue with her success in a short amount of time.

#WOWoftheDay – Tessa Blanchard was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, and was raised in the wrestling industry. She began her career in 2014 after being trained by her father, stepfather, and George South. Her first ever match happened at Queens of Combat 2 (QOC) against Miss Rachel. From there, it was off to the races. Tessa began competing for promotions like Premiere Wrestling Xperience, NWA Mid-Atlantic Wrestling, and Absolute Intense Wrestling. In late 2014 she debuted for both the East Coast Wrestling Association and Women Superstars Uncensored. For ECWA, she competed in the Super 8 Chick Fight Tournament, where she became the ECWA Women’s Champion.

In 2015 she joined Big Time Wrestling, where she competed in a couple of special matches with Mickie James. They had first faced off at QOC 3 in 2014. Tessa lost her ECWA Women’s title in March of 2015 to Renee Michelle. She would also go on to debut for Shine Wrestling, SHIMMER, and Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling. Blanchard also participated in the Queens of Combat Championship Tournament, where she would go onto the finals. She did not, however, come away with the belt this time. Tessa would also get the opportunity to wrestle in China for Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling. She would also debut for Beyond Wrestling, AAW, and MCW Pro.

Tessa would again participate in the Super 8 Chick Fight tournament and made it all the way to the finals again. This time she would lose to Deonna Purrazzo. At the end of 2015, Tessa competed in another big tournament. Anthony Greene would team with Tessa Blanchard for Lucky Pro Wrestling’s Kings and Queens Tournament. Their team would be successful in winning. 2016 would see her debut for the WWE at NXT events, where she would lose to Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax, and Carmella. Tessa would also compete in dark matches for Lucha Underground. She would also win the Remix Pro Wrestling Fury Championship.

Blanchard would also go onto debut for World Wonder Ring Stardom, competing in the 2016 5Star Grand Prix. At SHIMMER 89, Tessa would form a team with Vanessa Craven called Mount Tessa. Also, at that show, they would walk away with the SHIMMER Tag Team Championships. Just before 2016 ended, she would win the PWX Women’s Championship. 2017 would start with Tessa working at Defiant Wrestling in the UK. She would also add Limitless Wrestling, WrestleCircus, and Women’s Wrestling Revolution (WWR). Tessa would also return to Stardom; while she was there, she would compete in the Cinderella Tournament. Speaking of Cinderella moments, Tessa Blanchard would also compete in the Mae Young Classic.

Later in the summer of 2017, she would take home the WrestleCircus Lady of the Ring and WrestleCircus Sideshow Championships. She would, however, lose the Remix Pro Fury title to Britt Baker. More debuts for Tessa would be in Bar Wrestling, House of Glory, The Wrestling Revolver, World Series Wrestling, and All-Pro Wrestling. Mount Tessa and Vanessa Kraven would lose the SHIMMER Tag Team titles at SHIMMER volume 97. The team would implode at volume 99, and Mount Tessa was no more.
In early 2018, Tessa would lose the WrestleCircus Sideshow Championship to Brian Cage. May 2018 would see Tessa Blanchard make her debut for IMPACT Wrestling. The Undeniable one steamrolled over fellow Superhero Kiera Hogan. Tessa would also pick up the PCW Ultra Women’s Championship. She would also gain the Women Superstars Uncensored Championship from Mercedes Martinez. Tessa and Martinez would clash again over the Phoenix of RiSE Championship. They would turn many heads with their 30-minute Iron Man match. It would then lead to a 60-Minute Iron Man match later in the year. She would also debut for The Crash, picking up the Crash Femenil Title. In August of 2018, Tessa would add the IMPACT Knockouts Championship to her pile of gold.

At ALL IN, Tessa would be accompanied to the ring by her father Tully and stepfather Magnum TA. As if that wasn’t memorable enough, Tessa would also come away with the victory. RiSE 10 would host the 60-Minute Iron Man match between Tessa and Mercedes. It would go a record-breaking 75 minutes and end with Tessa losing the Phoenix of RiSE title. After that, Tessa would go onto war with Taya Valkyrie in IMPACT Wrestling. This would last through the end of 2018. At IMPACT’s Homecoming event, Taya finally defeated the Undeniable Tessa Blanchard for the title. Now she will turn her focus to other things for now.

A clear theme throughout Tessa’s career is championships. She’s acquired many in her short tenure, and when she comes to WOW, that is, of course, her goal. However, the other WOW Superheroes will have to be wary of the Undeniable diamond, Tessa Blanchard. Especially the current WOW Champion, Santana Garrett. #WOWofTheDay – Tessa Blanchard and the rest of the WOW Superheroes will debut on AXS TV on January 18th.
