Santana Garrett | Indie Spotlight Watch

The current Women of Wrestling (WoW) World Champion is Santana Garrett. Santana is a second-generation wrestler; as she is the daughter of ‘TNT’ Kenny G. Santana grew up around the wrestling business and was on the road with her dad often. Santana is a very positive and bubbly personality, consistently bedecked in colorful attire and her signature headband. She’s been with WOW since season two, which took place in 2013. After losing her WOW debut, Santana formed a tag team with Amber O’Neal. Together they were known as The All-American Girls. At the end of season two, they were able to dethrone Caged Heat for the WOW Tag Team Championships.

In season three, Santana was flying high in WOW. She and Amber had two successful title defenses. In their first, they defeated the team of Abilene Maverick and Candice LeRae. In the second, they lost the bout via disqualification to Caged Heat. However, the titles can only change hands via pinfall or submission, so Santana and Amber retained the belts. Season four is where everything changed for Santana. During episode three, entitled Out for Justice, the All-American Girls lost the tag team titles. Santana also lost her tag team partner that night. Lana Star succeeded in turning Amber against Santana. In episode four, Lana and her new protégée The Beverly Hills Babe attacked Santana and took her out. After this, she disappeared from WOW for several episodes.

Santana Garrett

Santana made a surprise return at the season four finale, entitled Winner Take All. There she was added to the WOW World Championship triple threat match featuring the Beverly Hills Babe (formally known as Amber O’Neal). The third participant and reigning champion was Jungle Grrrl. Santana was able to get revenge on her former partner and capture the WOW World title. As we roll into season five, Santana stands at the top of the Women of Wrestling mountain. Any superhero looking for the gold will have to take her down.

Outside of WOW, Santana Garrett is still a superhero in wrestling. Wrestling’s Wonder Woman competes across the globe regularly. In-ring wise, Santana is a high flyer with a great technical arsenal as well. She’s appeared for IMPACT Wrestling (as Brittany), WWE NXT, and Ring Warriors. Santana also participated in the inaugural WWE Mae Young Classic in 2017. She lost in the first round to Viper (aka Piper Nevin). Other promotions you can catch Santana at are Shine Wrestling, SHIMMER Women Athletes, Pro Wrestling 2.0 and Conquer Pro Wrestling. More promotions she’s appeared for are: Women’s Wrestling Revolution, Wrestle Pro, RIOT Pro Wrestling and Battle Club Pro.

WOW World Title

In addition to the WOW World title, she also currently holds the CPW Leading Ladies Championship. In her past, there is a veritable mountain of titles to her credit. They include but are not limited to Coastal Championship Wrestling Ladies Championship, NWA World Women’s Championship, and World Wonder Ring Stardom Championship. Santana has also won two awards from the Cauliflower Alley Club and has been ranked on the PWI Female 100 list. Outside the ring, Santana is constantly preaching her fans to love and believe in themselves. This is very much in-line with her positive superhero persona.
