Update on Wrestlers Injured at AEW Dynamite

Last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite was a bumpy ride for some of the talent, as three wrestlers were injured during the show. According to a report from F4W Online, Rey Fenix, Britt Baker, and Matt Jackson all took some form of injury ahead of Double or Nothing on Saturday.

Rey Fenix Injury

Rey Fenix defeated Orange Cassidy early in the night with some help from Kip Sabian. This turned into a sizeable brawl after Frankie Kazarian, Scorpio Sky, and Jimmy Havoc took to the ring. After Havoc and Sabian threw SoCal Uncensored out of the ring, Fenix attempted a Springboard Twisting Senton to the floor. Fenix’s dive looked awkward and the four men on the outside were unable to catch him correctly. As a result, Fenix hit the floor onto his back and hip. While the bump looked nasty, the report says Fenix should be ready to participate in the Casino Ladder Match this Saturday night.

Britt Baker Injury

Later on in the night, Britt Baker teamed with Nyla Rose versus Hikaru Shida and Kris Statlander. Shida and Statlander were able to build some steam early in the match by slamming Rose onto Baker’s leg. Dr. Baker held her knee for some time after the attack and seemed to be favoring it before getting knocked down again. Nyla Rose had to drag her partner back to the corner in order to make the tag. Afterward, cameras caught ringside medics inspecting Baker’s knee and helping her to the backstage area after the match. As of May 21st, she is still listed for a match against Kris Statlander on Saturday.

Matt Jackson Injury

Finally, Matt Jackson made a surprise appearance with his brother Nick, in the post-main event angle. After Matt Hardy tried to save Kenny Omega from a beatdown by The Inner Circle, The Young Bucks made their return to Dynamite for the first time since March 25th. The Bucks made a daring diving attack onto Ortiz and Santana from the stands at TIAA Bank Field. The report states that Matt took an injury performing this move. Possibly either a broken rib or some torn cartilage. Nevertheless, Matt remained active in the brawl against The Inner Circle, only showing signs of pain as the show went off the air.

The report makes no mention of any of the wrestlers were injured having to miss Double or Nothing on Saturday.
