Report: WWE to Rebrand Stone Cold Podcast

Some of the best moments on the WWE Network has been from WWE legend Stone Cold Steve Austin’s video edition of his podcast. From his very real interview with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon to his somewhat awkward conversation with the former Dean Ambrose, the show has always stood out as a interesting watch.

Announced recently, WWE, according to WrestleVotes, is planning to bring back the hit show to the network.

While this may be interesting to some, the key here is “brand new name, but same concept.” Not much detail has come from this as Austin has not stated anything about this on the PodcastOne version of his show, nor on any of his social media accounts. However, the IPA brewer bringing the show back to the Network is a interesting move after announcing Corey Graves’ own podcast, After The Bell, along with his first guest being Triple H.

As Graves podcast serves as the first show under the Connecticut-based wrestling company’s newest brand, WWE Podcast Network, a combined effort with WWE and Endeavor Audio.

We can only imagine what is there to come from this, but of course, Pro Wrestling Post will keep you posted on the future of the new Stone Cold show.

Caul’s Call

My background and experience also lies in radio and podcasting so I know a power play when I see it. WWE has been making every big move possible in his war for pro wrestling supremacy. With such shows as Talk Is Jericho, Busted Open Radio, and even Art of Wrestling, podcasts have been surging for a long time now so for Vince and his company to JUST really enter the game is telling.

Stone Cold Podcast on WWE Network has always been entertaining, with my favorite being with AJ Styles. If they can re-brand, give a new name, but still give interviews like that one then I am all in with seeing it return in January. However, the fans will see right through this attempt if it is anything less than a subscription grab for the Network to recover lost numbers.
