Raw and Smackdown Live Recapatory (Brock Attacks Rollins)

Raw opens with a video package about the WWE 24/7 championship. R-Truth and Carmella take on Drake Maverick and his wife Renee in a mixed tag 24/7 championship match. There are several wrestlers around the ring like a lumberjack match. Truth and Carmella pick up the victory after Truth pins Drake.

As Truth is standing in the ring, the wrestlers that were outside of the ring all stand on the apron for a few seconds before they pile in the ring and attempt to get their hands on the 24/7 championship. About 15 wrestlers climb on top of Truth and the referee counts to three. Mike Kanellis emerges from the pile-up with the 24/7 championship and then takes off running up the ramp in through the arena. Maria shows up and bangs on the door and demands that he open the door. She threatens to knock down the door and kick him in his vagina.

Up next is a five-man gauntlet match to determine the number one contender for AJ Styles and his United States Championship at SummerSlam. First up, Rey Mysterio takes on Cesaro. After hitting a 619 followed by a frog splash, Rey Mysterio picks up the victory.

Sami Zayn is the next competitor out and he attacks Rey before the bell rings. The match starts officially and Sami Zayn misses a Helluva kick and gets rolled up for the 1 2 3.

Andrade is the next competitor for Rey in this gauntlet match. Andrade hits his finisher for the victory. He assaults Rey after The match by trying to rip off Ray‘s mask.

Ricochet comes out as the final competitor. Ricochet picks up the victory with the 630 from the top rope and is now going to SummerSlam to face AJ Styles for the United States championship.

After the match, he had an interview in the ring and said that people tend to not believe unless they can see it. So when he beats AJ Styles at SummerSlam, they’ll all be believers.

Mike and Maria are backstage in the referee’s locker room. He tells her that he won the 24/7 championship for them but she orders him to lay on his back for her so she can take the title away from him. The further emasculation of Mike Kanellis continues, painful to watch. Maria pins Mike and is now the first-ever pregnant champion in WWE.

A Moment of Bliss with Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross is up next. Alexa shows some footage from earlier in the day where Nattie along with Fit Finlay and a few other women are practicing in the ring. Becky Lynch shows up, knees Fitt in the groin, and locks the DisarmHer on Nattie.

Alexa talks trash about Becky until Becky appears on the Titan Tron above her and tells her that they have a one on one match tonight. She also challenges Nikki Cross’ “Celtic Pride” and asks her if she came all the way from Scotland to be Alexa Bliss’ gopher.

The Usos are coming out for a triple threat Raw tag team championship match with The OC and The Revival. The announce team makes mention of the fact that The Revival doesn’t have to be involved in the decision in order to lose their titles.

After a flurry that saw The Revival hit Jimmy Uso with the Shatter Machine, The OC picked up the victory with the Magic Killer on Jey Uso and are now the new Raw tag team champions.

Backstage as AJ begins his interview, Gallows and Anderson show up with their new championships and begin a celebration.

The Viking Raiders destroy yet another jobber tag team.

Backstage, the Street Profits talk about the show so far. Seth Rollins shows up and they talked about Dolph Ziggler before he heads out to face him in a one on one match.

The Man, Raw Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch is out first and Alexa Bliss flanked by Nikki Cross is out afterward for their match. The match ends after Alexa Bliss cannot continue from what appears to be an ankle injury. They have referees come from the back and walk her out.

Nikki Cross gets on the apron and yells at Becky until she steps in between the ropes and they jaw back-and-forth. After Raw returns from commercial an impromptu match between Becky Lynch and Nikki Cross is underway.

Alexa Bliss is still at ringside sitting on a chair with her leg propped up. Becky Lynch picks up the win after she manhandles Nikki Cross. After the match Alexa and Nikki attack Becky Lynch.

Then Nattie runs out and puts Becky in the Sharpshooter. Backstage after she attacked Becky, Nattie challenges her to a submission match for their bout at SummerSlam. She also said Becky is too scared to accept the challenge, so weirdly, she is not issuing it?

Backstage, Maria Kanellis is posing with the 24/7 championship when Braun Strowman enters the picture. She talks about being a pregnant lady and challenges the monster among men to show her how strong he really is. Braun said nothing.

Seth Rollins versus Dolph Zigler went about 10 minutes before Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman showed up. Dolph held Seth’s leg for a split second and allowed Brock Lesnar, the WWE Universal Champion, to pounce on Rollins and brutalize him.

He started with German Suplexes, then tossed him into the barricade on the outside of the ring before introducing a steel chair. He nailed Seth in the back with the steel chair and then set it up in the middle of the ring and proceeded to deliver three F5’s on top of the chair to Seth.

As the paramedics were wheeling Seth backstage on a stretcher, they passed Roman Reigns. He was preparing for his Samoan Summit with Samoa Joe. When all of a sudden, a brawl erupted between the OC and The Usos. Samoa Joe then attacked Roman. As the ambulance was pulling out of the arena Brock Lesnar stood in front of it and blocked it from leaving.

He then went to the back and open the door and yank the stretcher and Seth out of it. He delivered another F5 on top of the stretcher to Seth Rollins, who was bleeding from the mouth.

Samoa Joe was in the ring and said that the Samoan Summit which had been planned for that night was canceled. He then called out Roman Reigns to fight. Roman Reigns obliged and made his way down to ringside and they brawled.

Drew McIntyre eventually showed up to help jump on Reigns as well. Cedric Alexander then showed up to fight with Drew McIntyre and then there were now four Superstars going at it. As they made their way up the ramp the OC the brand new Raw Tag Team Champions made their way out to join the melee.

After that, the Usos introduced themselves into the brawl. There were several big spots including Cedric Alexander jumping from the top of the TitanTron on stage to nail everyone down below. The show ended with the good guys standing tall in the ring.

Smackdown Live opens with Shane McMahon saying that he wasn’t going to be there tonight. He talked about his upcoming match at SummerSlam against Kevin Owens where if Owens loses, he quits.

Kevin Owens shows up and goes to the ring with a mic. He assures Shane that the WWE Universe will survive with him not being on the show. That the show will finally be about the talent and not Shane’s stupid face. He talks about their SummerSlam match and assures Shane that he’ll never quit because he’s going to beat him. Drew McIntyre shows up. He comes to the ring and tells K.O. that he talks too much. He said that Shane gave him a match with Kevin Owens and sucker-punched him before assaulting him outside the ring.

Back from commercial and the referee rings the bell to start the match. McIntyre had an early advantage due to his pre-match attack on K.O. As they brawled outside, Drew put Kevin on the announce table only to have his attempt reversed and suffer a Stunner. Kevin then threw him back in the ring and hit a superkick followed by another Stunner for the victory.

Dolph Ziggler was backstage and cut a very impassioned promo about WWE legends and how he’s much better than everyone. He talks about The Miz as well and put over their match at SummerSlam. Dolph has a match later on the show against Finn Balor.

SummerSlam opponents, WWE Smackdown Women’s champion Bayley, and Ember Moon are teaming tonight against Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. Bayley comes into the dressing room and tells Ember she hasn’t forgotten about the Eclipse she suffered last week. And that they’ll get through tonight’s match no problem. But if she tries another stunt like last week, she’ll regret it.

Aleister Black cuts another mysterious promo about being different. He saluted Cesaro for picking a fight with him but wonders how he’ll move forward.

Ember comes to the ring followed by Bayley for their tag team match against Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. It seemed as if Bayley and Ember would win, but Nikki Cross suffered an Eclipse from Ember. That allowed Alexa (the legal tag partner) to sneak in and hit Twisted Bliss to pin Moon’s shoulders for the victory.

Sami Zayn is backstage and he’s going to end the hype of Aleister Black. He says that Aleister doesn’t need someone to come and fight him, he needs an intervention. They’re going to face off at SummerSlam.

Daniel Bryan shows up again to make his career-altering announcement but doesn’t do it.

Smackdown Live is in Memphis this week, so Jerry “The King” Lawler shows up to hold his King’s Court talk show. Trish Stratus is his guest. As they are talking about the old times and reminiscing, Charlotte Flair comes out and insults Trish Stratus. She says it’s a shame how the nine-time Women’s Champion doesn’t have a match on the card at SummerSlam. She then challenges Trish to a match at SummerSlam, which is being held in Toronto. Trish accepts and now the WWE Hall of Famer gets her ‘one more match.’

The O.C, newly crowned WWE Raw tag team champions Gallows and Anderson are backstage with United States champion AJ Styles, who has a match later against WWE Champion Kofi Kingston of The New Day.

Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Fun House is up next. He has a puppet to talk about how he is Finn Balor’s biggest fan. But Finn has made a mistake by helping Bray unleash The Fiend.

Dolph Ziggler versus Finn Balor is next and during their match, Finn Balor knocked Dolph outside of the ring with a clothesline. The lights went out and The Fiend appeared. It looked like he was physically in the building but when the lights came back on, he wasn’t there. The distraction allowed Dolph Ziggler to hit Finn Balor with Sweet Chin Music to pick up the victory.

Shinsuke Nakamura, the WWE Intercontinental Champion is taking on Ali next. Ali gets a good jump on Nakamura to get off to a fast start. After dodging three Kinshasa kicks, Ali rolled up Nakamura for a victory.

Randy Orton did a backstage promo and talked about how all he ever had to do in the business of professional wrestling was to be himself. He’s a third-generation Superstar and he mentioned that as well. He talked about Kofi Kingston and said that Kofi wasn’t on his level. He said that he was going to take the WWE Championship away from Kofi using the three most destructive letters in sports entertainment, RKO.

The New Day was backstage and talked about Kofi Kingston’s upcoming match against AJ Styles. AJ Styles used to refer to SmackDown Live as the house that AJ Styles built. But Kofi now called it the Palace of Positivity. During the match, Kofi Kingston hit AJ Styles with Trouble in Paradise as Styles was jumping off the top rope to secure the victory.

Backstage while Charlie was waiting for Roman Reigns to walk to the interview set, something or someone pushed over a crate/stage props backstage and leveled the Big Dog as Smackdown Live ended.

What's up folks, I'm Hab and I've been a wrestling fan for more than thirty years. I grew up on the NWA and Crockett Promotions in the Triad City of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. My favorite wrestler of all time is Bret Hart. At the moment, I'm a Cesaro hipster and The World's Biggest Luke Harper fan. I was at the Smackdown! taping when Brock Lesnar threw Zach Gowen down a flight of steps in the New Orleans Arena and laughed about it for the next two days. I have a few loves in my life, my beautiful daughter, my family, professional wrestling and hip-hop are just some of them.
