IMPACT Loses More Talent

Photo/@IMPACTWRESTLING

Sonjay Dutt and TNA Original Abyss have left IMPACT Wrestling and according to PWInsider, are on their way to the WWE.

Dutt, recently has been working backstage on the IMPACT writing scene, while Abyss was inducted into their Hall of Fame last year and was also working behind the scenes as a producer.

IMPACT emailed their roste, stating that both departures were amicable and didn’t want to stand in their way of “great opportunities”.

With their departures, IMPACT have added Konnan and Tommy Dreamer to their creative teams.

Could either be surprise entrants in tonight’s Royal Rumble match? I’m not sure Dutt has the name power to be included but surely Abyss could? It was heavily rumoured that he was going to join WWE in 08/09 to feud with The Undertaker, that’s some name power right there….

NJPW New Beginning Cards Announced

New Japan Pro Wrestling announced their heavily hit New Beginnings USA 2019 tour this past week. They began by apologising for the lack of home grown Japanese stars, stating that due to the on-going US government shutdown, visa issues were to blame.

There were plans for Yuji Nagata, Jushin Thunder Liger, Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii, and Satoshi Kojima to be featured on both dates but again, due to those visa issues, none of those mentioned will be appearing.

No Demon Balor At The Royal Rumble?

Photo/@FinnBalor

One of the biggest mysteries surrounding this weekend’s Royal Rumble, is about Finn Balor. And more importantly, will we see the Demon Balor against Brock Lesnar. At a recent ESPN interview, it seems we shouldn’t be holding our breath for a Demon appearance….

“I feel like maybe I leaned on the Demon too much there in the past as a crutch, and I can assure you that the man that faces Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble will be Finn Balor, the man”

He was quickly asked if he had any special plans at all for Sunday night….

“Honestly, this match just kind of came about so fast that I haven’t had much time to think about it. I don’t have any new gear, I don’t have any new looks, I don’t have any new ideas right now, but you know, we’re six days away (at the time of this interview), so I’m sure I’ll come up with something”

A little tease there at the end of the interview. Is he really coming out as Finn? Or we being worked here? Who know? I do know that if Brock has his working boots on, we could be looking at a match of the night!
