Pro Wrestling Post Week In Review 10/20/19

News! News! Get your news! I’m still “on assignment” in Southern Italy but I’m here as always with my weekly irrelevant round-up of the week’s hottest stories in pro wrestling. Pro Wrestling Post Week In Review 10/20/19. As always, I, “Smart” Mark Blake, have scoured the internet to find the biggest and most interesting stories.

That’s enough of me, let’s get into this week’s Week In Review! –

This isn’t a typo or a misprint the man above is away and we did send him and his lovely family to Italy to research for us. How is pasta made? What ingredients are included in an authentic Italian pizza?  He’ll be able to answer those questions when he returns. Until then this is Not Smart Mark Blake, Marc Madison filling in for the Pro Wrestling Post Week In Review. Mark’s name is on the banner and will remain the name to which this article is published under damn it and shall remain there because he is here in spirit! So basically this is a ghost, writing this.

MLW To Be Off YouTube Soon?

As many are aware Major League Wrestling airs a weekly program that is featured on beINSPORTS. The program is also released every Monday on YouTube through MLW’s YouTube channel. However, with recent changes to YouTubes certain aspects of their ad dollar. MLW CEO Court Baurer began to tease certain changes in a series of tweets.

As evident by his comments there is a fairly good chance it will be removed from the option. The question is what streaming service will MLW be available on and what having their own be something they may explore?

Jimmy Jacobs discusses why he chose to sign with IMPACT

In a recent interview with WrestlingInc, Jacobs discussed despite having different options available to him it was IMPACT Wrestling that provided him with the best option.

“After I got fired from WWE which was just two years ago, I’ve known Scott D’Amore since I was like 16. He called me up and said, ‘Hey we should have a chat and see if you’re any value to us and we’re any value to you.’ We had a chat and I came down to Bound For Glory two years ago and it was just a good fit,” said Jacobs.

“ROH wanted to bring me in at the time and I worked there for 10 years. This just seemed like a nice fit at the time and it continues to be a good fit. There’s a small core of people working on the creative team and I like that. I’m valuable creatively and as a producer backstage at the TVs. I get along with the talent and I like the people I work with and work for. You really can’t ask for more than that.”

Jacobs is in the role of creative now and something that has proven to be a strength of his. It was Jacobs that in fact came up with the concept behind Chris Jericho’s widely successful ‘List’ while in the WWE.

Mick Foley to help raise money for ODB

There is no denying the heart and generosity that comes from the Hardcore Legend. As Mick Foley’s “Nice Day” continues on through Colorado he shared that proceeds from that the tour will go to benefit former TNA/IMPACT Wrestling Knockout ODB. ODB’s ‘Meat and Greet’ Food truck burned down last year. With little settled to date as it pertains to insurance, this contribution from Foley along with an IndieGoGo Page (here) has been set up to help her out.

ODB has said herself that she plans to sell off merchandise and items during her time in TNA/IMPACT to aid in funding the recovery effort. She still competes on occasion but the Food truck was her primary source of income. We encourage everyone to do what they can to aid this cause.
