#Preview: Stardom x Stardom 2019 (8/10/2019)

We’re finally back to do another preview and it’ll be Stardom’s last big show before their 5 Star Grand Prix the week after called Stardom x Stardom. We got 6 matches in total, four title matches, one in-ring debut, one Stardom debut, and a partridge in a pear tree. It’s sure to be an amazing show and can only imagine how the playing field will be for the Grand Prix which takes place on August 17th. Let’s take a look at the card down below and see what we got.

Six-Man Tag Team Match
STARS (Mayu Iwatani, Saki Kashima, & Tam Nakano) vs. Tokyo Cyber Squad (Hana Kimura, Konami, & Bobbi Tyler)

Preview: We got our first noon-title match as it is a six-man tag match with STARS members, Mayu Iwatani, Saki Kashima, and Tam Nakano taking on members of Tokyo Cyber Squad, Hana Kimura, Konami, and Bobbi Tyler. Tokyo Cyber Squad were once former Artists of Stardom Champions before they lost them back to STARS and a win here could possibly get them back into the title picture against the current champions, Oedo Tai. This match is about more than the titles as it’ll also see who will have momentum leading into the tournament next week. Will STARS come out the winners or does Tokyo Cyber Squad keep the party rolling?

High Speed Title Match
Death Yama-San (c) vs. Starlight Kid vs. Riho

Preview: We have our first title match for the show as Death Yama-San defends her High-Speed Championship against Starlight Kid and someone making their Stardom debut, Riho. If you know Riho by now, you’ve probably seen her in All Elite Wrestling and Gatoh Move as she now looks to make an impact at Stardom with her first match being a title match. Yama-San has only been champion for about 18 days and is looking to get her first title defense in while Starlight looks to find her place in other divisions outside of the Future of Stardom one. Will Yama-San retain in her first defense? Will Starlight finally get a chance to win the title? Or will Riho win in her debut?

Singles Match
Momo Watanabe vs. Saya Kamitani

Preview: Next up is our first singles match of the night as Momo Watanabe takes on Stardom’s newest graduate who makes their in-ring debut, Saya Kamitani. Not much info is known about Saya compared to Utami and Saya, but this does show that Stardom is getting ready to groom future talent and we could possibly have another star in the making depending on her performance here. Quite a big deal to have your debut match against the current ace of Stardom and could mean big things if she defeats Momo or gets a time limit draw. Will Momo get the win to get herself back on track or will Saya make a big splash in her debut?

Artist of Stardom Title Match
Oedo Tai (Kagetsu, Andras Miyagi, & Natsu Sumire) (c) vs. Oedo Tai (Jamie Hayter, Hazuki, & Natsuko Tora)

Preview: Our next title match is set as we have the Artist of Stardom Champions and members of Oedo Tai, Kagetsu, Andras Miyagi, and Natsu Sumire defending the titles against…Oedo Tai..wait, what? Yep, it looks like they’ll be defending the belts against their own teammates as Hazuki, Jamie Hayter, and Natsuko Tora will be the ones to fighting their units. So what should we expect? Well, be sure to expect a mix of comedy, wrestling, and just an entertaining match in general for your viewing pleasure. Who will win the match? Will it be Oedo Tai or…Oedo Tai?

Wonder of Stardom Title Match
Arisa Hoshiki (c) vs. Jungle Kyona

Preview: We got our next title match set as Arisa Hoshiki defends her Wonder of Stardom Championship against Tokyo Cyber Squad member and one-half of the Goddesses of Stardom Champions, Jungle Kyona. Arisa has been on a roll ever since she defeated Momo to win the championship and has been delivering on quality matches, especially in her latest defense against Hazuki which you should all be watching right now. While Jungle hasn’t had the best of luck when it comes to titles in singles competition, she looks to break that glass ceiling this time around when she looks to win her first singles title in her wrestling career. Will Arisa successfully retain her title for the fourth time or will Jungle win one of the big ones?

World of Stardom Title Match
Bea Priestley (c) vs. Utami Hayashishita

Preview: We have our main event as Bea Priestley looks to defend her World of Stardom Championship against the Super Rookie, Utami Hayashishita. I’ll admit that I was skeptical during Bea’s run with the title but thankfully I was wrong as she really has upped her game ever since she won the title and has made me a fan of her work since then. Utami has made her wrestling debut last year at this same exact show, won titles, went into the finals of last years Grand Prix, and now one year later, she looks to take the companies biggest prize to really be called the Ultimate Super Rookie. Big stakes here for this match as it could help out both their careers in Stardom and to see who will lead the Grand Prix as their champion. Will Bea retain for the fourth time or will the Super Rookie win after only being involved for a year at Stardom x Stardom?

I hope you all enjoyed the article and are excited to see what this show will have in store for us. I’m excited as the card from top to bottom looks amazing and it’ll get me very much hyped up for the 5 Star Grand Prix. Hope you all watch it once it airs on their streaming service at Stardom-World.com as they present Stardom x Stardom.

Predictions:
1. Tokyo Cyber Squad
2. Riho
3. Momo Watanabe
4. Oedo Tai (Champions)
5. Arisa Hoshiki
6. Bea Priestley
