Preview: GCW Presents Live Free, Die Young

On Monday, February 3rd, Game Changer Wrestling comes to 1st Ring in Tokyo, Japan to face and team with the stars of Pro-Wrestling FREEDOMS and Big Japan Pro-Wrestling. Live Fast, Die Young is the first of these major shows. Both promotions come together in what will be three consecutive nights of action. It will be interesting to see how the blending of American Death Match and Hardcore style squares off alongside the Japanese Death Match and Hardcore style. The transition may be seamless and wrestling is a universal language. Will deathmatch and hardcore equally be a universal language? There is no reason to think otherwise.

Chris Dickinson vs. Yuji Okabayashi

When a veteran of Big Japan Pro-Wrestling tangles with ‘Dirty Daddy’ the result will be fierce. One of the most notable things about this matchup is how both men are evenly matched. Both offer notable size, strength and striking ability that makes this matchup even that more intriguing. Despite having a few more years on Okabayashi in the experience department, Dickinson continues to be a student of the game. With each contest, Dickinson presents a threat to his MMA background. For Okabayashi, his size and strength resonate the most when he steps into the ring. This will be Okabayashi’s first matchup with GCW.

Matthew Justice vs. Shlak

When Shlak is involved in a match the answer to the question is quite clear. Do you want blood? With a resounding yes, Shlak brings his often deadly style of competition to the ring against someone that is becoming regular in GCW, Matthew Justice. As the current AIW Absolute and the two-time AIW Intense Champion, Justice knows exactly what it takes to win. The challenge here is facing someone that is willing to do as much damage to him himself as he is his opponent. How does one prepare for that? If your Justice, the key is to fight fire with fire. He is also willing to throw caution to the wind with his leaps of faith as part of his arsenal.

Danny Havoc, Matt Tremont and Isami Kodaka vs. Drew Parker, Toshiyuki Sakuda and Jimmy Lloyd

This six-man tag match involves some of the most notable names of Game Changer Wrestling with two of Japan’s most notorious Death Match competitors. In fact, Isami Kodaka is often referred to as a ‘Death Match Samurai’. With a grappling style that combines a technical element to it along with hardcore style, Kodaka is something special indeed. For Toshiyuki Sakuda, a member of the Big-Japan Pro Wrestling promotion is nothing short of insanity. Despite only competing for a handful of years, Sakuda much like Kodaka is all too familiar with the hardcore style of competition. He also has a background in MMA as well. Parker, Llyod, Havoc, and Tremont will all be in their element against these Japanese stars.

Alex Colon vs. Violento Jack

While other talents are slated to face one another from Japan, Alex Colon squares off against Cardenas, Tabasco, Mexico native Violento Jack. Jack, a hardcore specialist of more than a decade returns to Game Changer Wrestling for the first time since The New Face of War this past August. For New Jersey native, Colon he has long made Game Changer Wrestling his home. He is considered by some underrated for his overall body of work. What will a win her against another ultraviolent luchador do for Colon? How will it help his stock? Check out Live Fast, Die Young to find out the answer.

Toru Sugiura and Takashi Sasaki vs. Kikutaro and KTB

What an interesting matchup this one is. KTB has shed his more comical side to showcase just how much of a Beast he is. The irony here is that he is teaming up with easily one of the most amusing talents today in Kikutaro. He makes fans laugh and sometimes that exactly what wrestling needs. Will Kikutaro bring a smile out of KTB on this night if they win? Across the ring is Pro-Wrestling FREEDOMS, Takashi Sasaki who is a veteran of over two decades. While he may hold the distinction of being a promotor, he is not without working alongside his talent. Toru Sugiura, a ten-year veteran, and member of the Pro-Wrestling FREEDOMS roster had a solid battle with Jun Kasai in 2019. Who will have the last laugh at Live Fast, Die Young?

Masashi Takeda vs. Orin Veidt

He was said to be one of the top ten deathmatch wrestlers in the world at one point in 2019, Masashi Takeda brings his violence as he faces Orin Veidt. ‘Crazy Kid’, who is often recognized by his in-ring charism will face a man that is about as close to end-to-end action as fans could get. A noted high-flyer and technician with just enough hardcore wizardry mixed in, Veidt (ironically recognized as the Wizard King) won’t resign himself to just being in the ring with Takeda. He will do whatever it takes to pick up the win here. Veidt is another in a line of talents that are willing to subject themselves to unspeakable harm along with their opponents. Who walks away at Live Fast, Die Young victorious?
