#Preview: Bar Wrestling Mistletoe Can Be Deadly If You Eat It (12/19/18)

It might be coming up to Christmas, but wrestling is for any time of the year and Bar Wrestling has their show Mistletoe Can Be Deadly If You Eat It which, as well as being a massively awesome name for a show, might actually be true but I wouldn’t recommend you try it. Like always, we’ve got a lot of names that you’re probably really familiar with if you read these previews of Bar and it’s nice to see and become more familiar with people I hadn’t really heard about before. So here’s my preview of the show on the 19th December at the LA Bootleg Theater and obviously, these are just the matches that have been announced and I know that there will be a few more on the night! Here is Bar Wrestling Mistletoe Can Be Deadly If You Eat It.

Brian Cage vs. Chris Ridgeway

When I first saw this match announced, I had to admit that I did a double take. I mean I’m used to seeing Brian Cage’s name pop up in these Bar shows but seeing Chris Ridgeway was a massive shock. I mean Ridgeway is a massive name in the British independent scene at the moment in promotions like Revolution Pro and he’s just a superstar. So, what happens when we put the strength of Cage with Ridgeway’s technical prowess? I mean it’s going to be a battle of styles and the winner will be whoever can take the advantage early on and keep the pace of the match to their standards. I know Brian Cage is amazing but I’ve got to support my fellow countryman here and I’d love to see Ridgeway win this match because, even at such a young age, he’s so well versed in a lot of styles and I just love watching him in the ring!

Violence Unlimited (Brody King & Tyler Bateman) vs. Wakanda Vice (Scorpio Sky & Watts)

Now that Scorpio Sky and Watts have a new tag team name in Wakanda Vice, this match between them and Violence Unlimited really isn’t just a battle of strengths but one of who has the coolest tag team name… I mean don’t make me pick! You all know how much I love Scorpio Sky (SCU!) and, from the last show, we know that Sky and Watts work perfectly together, so maybe that tag team chemistry is getting a lot better. However, you know I love the brutal strength of Brody King and Tyler Bateman really is a work of art in the ring and with such a unique and captivating persona. Let’s just say we’re mixing some of my favourite wrestlers together in one ring with a mix of personalities and styles and I honestly can’t wait to see what happens – I mean I don’t want to pick a winner so let’s just see how it goes.

LuchaSaurus vs. PJ Black

One of Bar’s favourite in LuchaSaurus (who I will keep saying scares the living daylight out me) v the international PJ Black. I mean this really is going to be a clash of styles because we all know that LuchaSaurus is a hard hitter with the strength of… a dinosaur! Then we’ve got PJ Black who can really do it all because he’s strong, athletic and so versatile. It’s another one of those matches where it’s all going to be about timing and who can get the upper hand because it’s anybody’s game.

DoomFly (Delilah Doom & Eli Everfly) vs. Nicole Savoy & Shotzi Blackheart

IT’S MY FAVES DOOMFLY BACK AGAIN! I hate how repetitive I get with these guys but I love them a bit too much from their cuteness and adorableness and everything. I mean I don’t know much about Nicole Savoy (apart from her Mae Young stuff) but, if you saw my preview of SHEvivor Series at the UK Pro-Wrestling: EVE, you’ll know that the Aussie Shotzi Blackheart is charismatic and such an amazing, unique enigma. So we’ve got a bit of cuteness and a bit of alternative style, I mean come on, what a match this is going to be!

Aaron Solow vs. Ray Rosas

I am going to be honest in saying that I haven’t really heard much about Aaron Solow and Ray Rosas but that’s sometimes more exciting, I mean I get to watch them both without any preconceptions and just watch some wrestling. They both look like charismatic guys and I can’t wait to what their styles are like and how they work together.

RockNES Monsters (BHK & YUMA) vs. Killer Baes (Laura James & Heather Monroe)

I mean Bar Wrestling really knows how to quench my thirst for intergender wrestling and this is perfect – two guys v two girls – YAS! I’ve looked at all 4 of these competitors before from RockNES Monster’s tag matches to Laura James’s amazing fearlessness and Heather Monroe’s desire top rove she’s the best. I mean I could easily say RockNES have the advantage because of their history as a tag team but I am so excited about the team of James and Monroe. Both wrestlers are amazing athletes and I’ve seen them do things that I’d never imagine seeing in a wrestling ring (I mean just watch James during Joey Janela v Hangman Page at All In). Because of this, I’m not going to pick a winner but just enjoy this spectacle!
