#Preview: AAW Pro Presents The Jim Lynam Memorial Tournament

On Thursday, August 29th and Friday, August 30th, AAW Pro Presents the Jim Lynam Memorial Tournament nights one and two from the Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago, Illinois. This tournament is a tribute to late AAW Pro owner Jim Lynam whose legacy will long be remembered as part of the promotion moving forward. Over sixteen men will look to see who will walk away four rounds of competition to determine a winner. This year’s field reads like a whose who of competition. Whether it is MJF, Eddie Kingston, Jake Something or Fatu this event is sure to please all that are watching. Add to that the AAW tag team championship match and fans are sure to be all a frenzy for what is slated to take place.

Five words will best describe this match up. Hit hard and hit often. These two men are amongst the toughest and hardest hitters in this tournament and fans can be assured that the person that walks away will likely be doing so barely. Something has held the Heritage championship before so he knows what it takes to be successful in AAW Pro. This tournament will test the skill sets of both men as Alexander’s time will put him in a position to either advance or question what could have been. Something won’t rest on simply being a part of this tournament he has to be out to win it. Will this be another case of the last strike could be the one that leads one man to advance? It certainly appears to be that way.

There is likely a case of a match where if you blink you will miss it when it comes to this match. These two aerial technicians are certainly driven not to just be invited in this tournament, but showcase what they can do in singles action as well. Miguel who is a member of The Rascalz and Reed who has often teamed with AR Fox as part of Fyah Fox know just what it takes to be part of a successful tag team. This match will likely test who can excel on their own and seek the ability to move forward on their own. Who catches the other off guard and who leaves the other in the dust? Stay tuned to this matchup and see who moves onto the next round.

Another fun first-round matchup pits the Mack Daddy himself against Acey baby himself, Ace Romero. Romero is no stranger to AAW and this match will likely be a match of redemption for the big man. Romero, unfortunately, lost to DJ Z in the first round of last year’s tournament so anything, but a win won’t be tolerated. Mack is a veteran that knows exactly what he has to do to be successful. A former NWA, Lucha Underground Trios Champion, and PWR Tag Team Champion, Mack has exactly what it takes to walk away on top. Will a young and hungry Romero catch Mack off guard leading to him advancing to the second round? Fans will have to check out this event on Thursday to see who advances between the two.

An interesting first-round matchup is set to take place as Stallion faces Lynch. Stallion is the support and trust of several people behind him and as Lonestar goes it could be how this tournament ultimately shapes up. In Lynch, the 17-year veteran saw a stretch of nearly three years ago of him not competing at all. Lynch last competed for AAW Pro back during the March 16th event, Hell Hath No Fury when Lynch competed as part of a four-way match that saw him, Gringo Loco and Hakim Zane come out on the losing end to Ace Austin. This time around he is not willing to let this opportunity pass him by and allow Curt Stallion to advance. Will this be a case of Stallion moving on or will Lynch be the one to stop the Lonestar from getting to the next round of the Jim Lynam Memorial Tournament?

If there were two men that knew what plunder or violence all is about in this tournament it is this one it is these two. This match will unquestionably be a fight. There will be nothing technical when Kingston and Jacobs’ exchange blows. Kingston is no stranger to AAW Pro and this year hopes to advance to the next round of action if he goes over Jacobs. Last year as part of WRSTLING, Kingston and stablemate David Starr defeated Curt Stallion and Jake Something to retain at the time the AAW Tag Team Championships. This time around Kingston is looking out for number one and the zombie Princess is looking to ensure that doesn’t happen. Blood will be spilled in this match and it looks like it will be at the hands of both Jacobs and Kingston against one another.

Much like the Miguel and Reed match, this match is sure to be one to set the evening on fire. Laredo Kid is well-known for his high-flying technique much like Austin. This appears to be the first time both men are entered into this event and the results could be exciting for those in attendance. With a field this deep, the fourth annual tournament appears to have just as many names involved in making this tournament a success as has the previous three years. Will the one true ace have an ace up his sleeve against the high-flying luchador from Nuevo Laredo, Mexico? This could be the year sixteen-year veteran adds Jim Lynam memorial tournament winner to his list of accomplishments. If Austin has anything to say about it that likely won’t be the case.

Always an entertaining ride is anything involving the charismatic Colt Cabana. When you couple him with easily one of the biggest heels in wrestling today in Maxwell Jacob Friedman we are in store for an exciting first-round match between the two. MJF will likely use any means necessary to try and outsmart Cabana where the seasoned veteran can easily lean on the anything you can do; I can do better mentality between them. Cabana is capable of just as many underhanded tactics as MJF. Will we likely see shenanigans in this first-round match? It’s almost a certainty especially considering the parties involved in this one. Regardless of whoever comes on top, this will likely be the match with the biggest fan engagement.

If there was ever a case of David and Goliath in human form taking place it could be this first-round match up. The Samoan Werewolf is as fierce as he is strong and he likely will be out for blood against Jake Atlas. Atlas, the current PCW Ultraweight champion isn’t coming into the tournament to rest on his laurels. Atlas will have his work cut out for him as he isn’t facing any normal competitor. Fatu comes to the ring with presence and will leave the ring with blood on his hands. He is coming in to make a name for himself and own this tournament. Will it be a case of werewolf over man or will Atlas fire through a silver bullet of success over one half of Warbeast in this first-round matchup of the Jim Lynam Memorial Tournament?

These two teams will once again come to blows and this time the titles will be at stake as the Besties in the World face off against the recently IMPACT Wrestling departed former tag team champions, Ortiz and Santana. They have raged war on one another in multiple scenarios, but ultimately the prize was to walk away as the champions. With no other obligations preoccupying LAX now it appears as they have their eyes laser-focused on the retaining these titles. Besties in the World are tired of being perennial bridesmaids in this battle and look to be the ones to dethrone Ortiz and Santana. What to match Mat Fitchett and Davey Vega have in store for LAX when the AAW Tag Team Championship is at stake?
