NXT Inquest for 6/19/19 (Breeze/Riddle/Dream vs. Undisputed Era)

Welcome to the latest edition of the NXT Inquest for 6/19/19 featuring a main event of Tyler Breeze, Matt Riddle, Velveteen Dream, and The Undisputed Era was set to take place. Undisputed Era came to the ring flagging the new NXT champion, Adam Cole with new shirts and setting up for what could be the ushering in of a new era. Cole gets on the mic saying I told you so and that the NXT Championship is the beginning of his prophecy coming to light. He said that it will be the Undisputed Era that will hold all the gold.

Cole even says that a new intro should begin with the focus on the entire Undisputed Era being the focal point. Kyle O’Reilly says that it was just a little something he threw together referring to the video package. A smattering of fans actually began chanting ‘Thank you, Kyle’. Cole said that no one will be able to touch them as they will have all the power.

It was at this time when the Velveteen Dream came out interrupting Cole’s claim that he is untouchable. Dream said that the NXT championship would look better on him. It was at this time that Matt Riddle came out and even referred to himself as insanely good looking and a stallion. The banter between them involved some jabs to Riddle’s recent online comments about him sharing what he thought of Goldberg’s performance.

As Cole continues to share his thoughts it was at this point when Prince Pretty Tyler Breeze came out to get and takes objection with the Undisputed Era claiming to take credit for NXT’s its success. Breeze then says that with the support of William Regal we get Tyler Breeze, Matt Riddle, and Velveteen Dream to face any three of the four members of the Undisputed Era.

It is then announced that next week Io Shirai will face Shayna Baszler for the NXT women’s championship in a steel cage next week. This was followed by a video package of the rivalry between the two. They show how both women are taking their fight against one another all over the arena.

Raul Mendoza vs. Damien Priest

After the break, we get the debut of Damien Priest. An interesting intro for the former Punishment Martinez. Priest is being highly talked about by the announce crew. He begins with a straightforward kick on Mendoza. This is followed by him not selling any of Mendoza’s offense. Mendoza attempts to recover, but Priest goes back at him. He then attempts to catch him, but we get a rope walk by Mendoza who catches Priest. Priest hits a roundhouse kick followed by a rolling cutter on Mendoza. He finishes him off for a three count and a win.

Winner: Damien Priest

An impressive and yet rather quick finish.

Yim said she was growing up around the LA riots and calls herself the Blasian Baddie and the fans support for her that she has their support making for her to be a success. She shares how far she has come in order to be where she is today. She will fight for those that need fighting, protect those that need protecting and save those that need saving as she makes a statement towards Shayna Baszler.

Taynara Conti vs. Xia Li

This matchup should be a highly competitive match up between these two women who both bring a martial arts backgrounds. Ranallo shared how these two teamed together and now are facing one another. We get a case of a catches catch can facing one another. Li attempts to take out Conti who was mocking her, at one point. Li gets an advantage momentarily until Conti hits her a straight kick. Conti is getting more emotional in this matchup. She brings the fight to Xia Li only for Li to kick out. Conti is getting increasingly more aggressive as the matches moves on. Conti then wrenches on the arms applying pressure to Li’s back. Li recovers and begins to take the fight to Conti with thrust kicks. Li hits Conti with a heel kick and a three count win.

Winner: Xia Li

Ranallo called this a cavalcade of kicks as it was the second kick that took out Conti after failing to connect with their first kick.

The Undisputed Era and Riddle, Breeze, and Dream match up are set to take place after the next break. However, before that, we get the Street Profits sharing the gold and how they don’t stop working as the Forgotten Sons are said to be coming up soon.

Next week the first round match of the NXT Breakout tournament is set to take place.

The Undisputed Era vs. Matt Riddle, Tyler Breeze, and Velveteen Dream

Riddle makes his way out first followed by Breeze and then the Dream. All members of the Undisputed Era come to the ring, but the final decision was to have Roderick Strong, Adam Cole and Bobby Fish competing in this match with Kyle O‘Reilly on the outside. Riddle said he wanted to start this match off against Adam Cole. Riddle locks in a kneebar on Cole until the rest of the UE get involved in the matchup. The original bro throws Strong all over the ring and then the Velveteen Dream is tagged into the match. Strong then counters a double ax handle attempt. Bobby Fish is then tagged in and then goes right at Bobby Fish. Dream hits a Lionsault onto Bobby Fish.

The Dream then tags in Tyler Breeze who is immediately taking the fight, to Adam Cole. Riddle is then tagged in and continues to work on Adam Cole. Cole breaks free until Matt Riddle hits an array of moves on Adam Cole. Roderick Strong takes down Riddle with backbreaker with the momentum goes in the direction of the Undisputed Era. Cole returns to the ring and continues to work on Matt Riddle in the process. Riddle attempted a strike on Strong, but Strong recovers.

The frustration of the UE appears to be growing at mass. Bobby Fish continues to work on Matt Riddle. Fish weakens Riddle and then tags in Adam Cole. However, after a momentary lapse in judgment, we get Breeze in with the hot tag. Breeze hits a collection of kicks along with the beauty shot. Breeze then follows up with Dream making a tag. However, Strong was tagged in with a high knee also being the issue. After some miscommunication, Roderick Strong hits a suplex backbreaker on Velveteen Dream for a three count and the win. The Undisputed Era was victorious over Matt Riddle, Tyler Breeze, and Velveteen Dream.

Winners: Undisputed Era

The faction stands alone at the top of the rampway while Dream, Breeze, and Riddle all are left pointing fingers at the one.
